Manage commercial and marketing cooperation with local salons by bringing to the market the relevant offers from a brand point of view, as well as building the excellence of L’Oréal Mizani and L’Oréal Professional brands through instore presence, animation, visibility and share of heart of all salons and stylists in South Africa, specifically in the 3 key geographic territories (Gauteng, KZN + Cape region).

Commercial Strategy:

  • Develop, monitor and manage a portfolio of salon and distributor clients, in accordance with the strategy of the PPD division and brands
  • Create an annual business plan taking into account levers of growth to achieve brand results (sell-in) and the profitability of all the brands held by each salon.
  • Lead or participate in the negotiations with clients on key launches, space, location and stock.
  • Establish and implement the plan including trade marketing/animation/ merchandising.
  • Follow up return-on-investment of actions and animations. Support the development of the salons, including e-retail where relevant.
  • Drive the performance of salons (P&L). Manage stock agreements. Monitor contracts/invoices associated.
  • Build a strategy for new launches, especially the launch of L’Oréal Professional space increase and promotions within the key identified accounts
  • Seek opportunities to expand in new territories or inside existing territories with new salons where relevant
  • Orchestrate and coach all salons’ interlocutors. Work with product managers to deliver trade animations on time according to the marketing/action plan.
  • Co-ordinate all aspect of the business with other internal departments; education, marketing, supply chain, customer service, legal department.
  • Build a deep customer intelligence and strong network with key local stakeholders
  • Analyze competition and conduct intelligence on the market 

§  Establish and develop partnerships and strong relationships with salons ensuring mutual business objectives 

§  Develop local integrated team (product managers and national education manager) on key accounts, to foster the long-term growth

Key Experience and functional skills

·       University degree preferable with 2-3 years’ experience in a relevant field (area manager, KAM…)

·       Strong commercial acumen; excellent communication and negotiation skills

·       Sensitive to numbers, analytical and results driven

·       Motivated and agile; have a flexible mindset 

·       Proven ability to work in a self-directed position

·       High degree of autonomy and entrepreneurial spirit
