Financial Data Scientist (Financial COE)

Your role:

The Financial Data Scientist role will partner with various functions of the Financial Center of Expertise team to drive the use of data and modeling to improve processes and drive financial insights. You will help us to build integrated systems with proprietary data models and conduct analyses to inform our financial resource needs and business decisions. In doing so, you will work cross-functionally to measure our risks and shape our understanding of how L'Oréal is performing as a business, as well as how we can continue to grow

We expect that you succeed in:

  • Conducting trend and sensitivity analyses on financial performance and develop data-driven recommendations to inform business decisions
  • Developing statistical and machine learning models to identify patterns in large scale data related to user activity, profitability, and risks, and formulate recommendations for driving business strategy
  • Spinning up proofs of concept for different applications and iterate to build scalable solutions
  • Developing advanced models to support brand and gross margin analysis
  • Driving work for ad-hoc financial analytics requests to report on L'Oréal's financial health, and identify potential operational improvement opportunities
  • Ensuring legal requirements respect and service quality
  • Supporting management of junior team members
  • Participation in group and local financial projects to improve processes
  • Using the lean mindset in day-to-day work

We are looking for:

  • University degree (Master’s in CS or Data Science would be an asset)
  • Knowledge and experience in the data science field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience working with financial data
  • 2-5 of data science experience with knowledge of model creation, testing, and deployment
  • Advanced data management skills
  • High interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of SAP
