Brick and mortar retail has taken on a profound and increased strategic importance to L'Oreal Americas.  We seek an IT leader to drive an aggressive IT program re-positioning L'Oreal stores across North and ultimately South America to provide a fully digitalized outstanding customer experience where our beauty expertise and services compliment L'Oreal outstanding products. Additionally, this team will provide unique in-store capabilities for our retailers.  IT capability including infrastructure, Applications, and Data is a unique competitive advantage L'Oreal will utilize.

We seek an experienced and strong Retail IT leader to identify retail capabilities through strong relationships with the business teams as well as keeping current with best-in-class retail designs.  This leader will translate the capabilities into applications, and data, and manage the full life cycle of delivery from design to run.


  • Anticipate, understand and collect the zone strategic business needs. Define a capabilities based road map for retail in general and brand specific road maps that incorporate relevant brand specific experiences
  • Translate the IT strategy into an operational plan for the Retail domain, including financial, human and material aspects.
  • Understand, challenge and formalize business requirements and supervise mediation to land at achievable projects that drive business results
  • Guarantee the design activities for any new applications project while ensuring the business cases elaboration.
  • Steer the build activities and manage all IT projects ensuring the quality, content, costs and deadlines. Ensure that each project contributes to our Customer Data strategy by harvesting all possible data.
  • Guarantee the operational efficiency and Service Level Agreements of the applications running under the retail domain and ensure that the necessary evolutions are recommended and implemented.
  • Manage all relations within his/her domain (IT/business/third parties/vendors).
  • Recruit, develop and manage the teams; ensure development of expertise and know-how and support organizational changes.
  • Watch the market/technology trends and spot potential evolutions in line with business opportunities
  • Drive standardization and harmonization of the application portfolio in his/her domain across all Americas countries. 
  • Manage the overall internal client demands by arbitrating between client satisfaction and IT feasibility (budgets, technical constraints, priorities).
  • Guarantee that the IT applications evolutions are covering the business needs.

Key Partnerships:

The Retail IT Leader owns the relationship between the Business and IT Departments and will partner to transform the business needs into IT deliverables

  • Strong partnership with the Chief Retail Officer department in key countries
  • Deep relationship with brand Retail leads
  • Engaged participation in all consumer facing initiatives with all facets of the Digital IT team
  • Lead and manage all necessary committees with internal business clients and IT departments.
  • Co-lead key IT projects for the division together with other IT functions (Infrastructure, Architecture, etc.) and the Global IT Retail teams
  • Ensure the right level of service quality through challenging IT services providers. 


  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Keen business relationship skills and ability to influence across all levels and reach alignment
  • Stays on top of modern technologies and understands how/where to leverage
  • Strong team and people development skills along with strong Vendor management skills
  • Knowledge of French, Spanish, and Portuguese a plus


  • Minimum 15 years of IT experience; at least 3 years in Retail
  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other technical discipline
  • Knowledge of CEGID or other Retail application suite expected
  • Ideally have worked in the cosmetics industry or a related consumer focused area
