Assistant Financial Controller – Luxury Products Division




Executive Summary

The Lancome business unit is currently looking for a dynamic individual to support in the provision of data, analysis and reporting.



Your key job accountabilities


  • Assist the Finance team in month-end reporting, both internally within the division, and to head-office in Paris

  • Responsibility for tracking, validating and controlling (vs. budget) discretionary Customer Allowance budget spent by the National Account Managers

  • Production of Daily Sales Report, monitoring progress of sales against plan

  • Weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting on all retail data, including market share tracker, retail activities by month, sales and promotions trackers, etc

  • Work with the Commercial Controller and the Commercial Team to set up and improve processes across Lancome commercial and finance teams

  • Ad hoc support to the Commercial and Marketing Controllers



The opportunity


This is a unique opportunity to work directly with the commercial, marketing and finance teams to gain insights into the luxury products industry. You will be exposed to teams at all levels across the fast paced luxury environment.



The network you would work with


You will work closely with all departments across the Lancome division, in particular with the finance and sales teams.  You will also work closely with other functions in the business including Marketing, Merchandising, Supply Chain and Customer Services. You may also liaise with external customers and store management.

Qualifications required


Educated to degree level

Experience in industry, preferably within a commercial environment



Essential skills required


  • Advanced proficiency on Microsoft Excel & Outlook and intermediate proficiency on Word and Powerpoint
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with large amounts of data
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise work without supervision, work under pressure, and be flexible to changing priorities
  • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of all aspects of the role
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Drive to succeed
