Director, Medical Science Liaison – CeraVe & La Roche-Posay


Delivers scientific information to HCPs (MDs, NPPAs, Medical Staff) and Media regarding current and future adjunctive therapies and skincare solutions developed and commercialized by CeraVe and La Roche-Posay, in a variety of settings including private practices, academic medical center, hospitals, and managed care organizations.


Supports product launches to service HCPs as needed both in-person, distribution of material in person as well as by email, webex and other platforms as needed. Develops and maintains professional relationships with internal and external customers in tandem with heads of Medical Affairs & Relations and field sales representatives to ensure the scientific information needs of healthcare professionals are met. 


Implementation of peer influence programs, including training members of CeraVe and La Roche-Posay speaker’s bureau. Supports advisory events to ensure accuracy of and clinician access to up-to-date scientific and clinical data. Represents and supports CeraVe and La Roche-Posay at scientific congresses in association with Medical & Professional Relations and Field Sales. Supports Hospital Programs by educating staff on the clinical portfolio of CeraVe & LRP for various patient types.


Develops and maintains strong scientific knowledge of the current competitive landscape and competitive messaging. Upon request, presents data on La Roche-Posay and CeraVe products to healthcare professionals (scientific peer to peer) including physicians, academic institutions, researchers, and other health care professionals. Provides approved information to customers to ensure access to current medical and scientific information as necessary. Upon requests, can assist or lead regional speaker bureau or online training programs in support of La Roche-Posay scientific information and products and services.


Provides comprehensive medical and scientific support for La Roche-Posay and CeraVe products by serving as an internal expert for field-based team members, education, and marketing, as needed. Attends NSTMs, POAs, and other field team meetings as necessary to support scientific understanding of CeraVe and La Roche-Posay science.


Works with Medical Relations and KOLs to seed investigator initiated trials for region-specific data (i.e. effect of climate or pollution on Atopy and Psoriasis). Work with Medical Relations and Sales on the development of Patient Experience programs on core and new products.


Additional responsibilities include gathering and synthesizing external insights, developing scientific MD launch content and tools (posters, scientific slides, article publication support) to support the tactics of DMI and US strategy, serving as an expert resource to support healthcare professional requests for scientific information related La Roche-Posay and CeraVe products or disease areas. Interfaces with key customers, opinion leaders to successfully meet the customer’s needs.


Qualifications

  • M.D., Ph.D, or other recognized doctorate level education.
  • Previous MSL experience (3+ years) strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in the field of dermatology and OTC skincare strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance trends and requirements impacting including MSLs.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to clearly articulate complex scientific concepts in various settings.
  • Ability to efficiently manage time and priorities and work in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel extensively (up to 50%).
