POSITION SUMMARY:Identify viable packaging options working with corrugate suppliers and brand managers for promotional prepacks.
Provide expert advice regarding technical feasibility and risks. Prepare prototypes for ship testing. Define technical parameters according to L’Oreal standards. Interface with MRP planning and third party labor regarding deliveries and production line problem resolution. Create and maintain corrugate purchase orders, update bills of materials with corrugate components, create and distribute pallet specifications. Analyze opportunities for material and labor costs savings. Develop and maintain a knowledge of new or emerging trends in packaging technology. Manage multiple projects to meet established timelines. Perform other duties as necessary or required (projects related to Assembly Shared Services). Minimal local travel required between other customer sites for trouble-shooting and creating shipper samples on packsize equipment
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Education: BS degree in Packaging Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience:Experience in package development, preferably in the cosmetics, consumer goods or a related field is preferred. Proven ability to handle multiple projects of varying degrees of complexity. Proven ability to influence others to resolve problems, gain resources, reach agreements. Good communication skills, to deal effectively with all levels of our organization. Excellent organizational skills to manage the documentation, materials and information. Good Computer skills working with Microsoft Office, TOPS/CAPE for data analysis, and SAP/SRM. Ability to travel.
