Title: National Account Manager – MCB, Target

Reports to: Field Sales Vice-President - Retail

 

Qualifications, Education, Experience & Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5 plus years experience in a Sales Management position in the Consumer Products industry
  • Prior experience:

ü  Key account management

ü  Cross development from outside sales to inside sales

ü  Retail knowledge

Requirements:

  • Position is based at Target headquarters (no relocation offered)
  • The ability to travel overnight and visit various market areas as needed
  • Travel will include meetings in the Carol’s Daughter NY and L'Oreal NJ offices
  • Willing to relocate for future potential advancement opportunities
  • Possesses a valid driver’s license and safe driving record

The NAM facilitates the management of the Multi-Cultural Beauty (MCB) Target business for Carol’s Daughter and SoftSheen-Carson in the following ways:

  • Using Target’s POS data to identify opportunities for distribution on existing and new items. 
  • Planning, developing and executing account specific strategy to influence Target’s decisions.
  • Using decision criteria and measurements used by Target for decision making
  • Working across functions in formal and informal teams to analyze, plan, influence, and implement decisions and plans with Target
  • Provides a brand focus with Target to ensure Carol’s Daughter and SoftSheen-Carson brand ambition and potential is maximized

Account Business Management:

  • Manages the account business processes
  • Plans account business
  • Presents account business plans
  • Continuously follows-up to ensure brand objective and 4 P’s are achieved with account (s)
  • Meets and exceeds division sales goals and objectives established for Target; controls returns
  • Analyzes Target’s business on a daily basis monitoring shipments and returns while utilizing strategic thinking to solve problems and capitalize on business opportunities
  • Utilizes all available resources to help forecast business (POS, syndicated data, industry and account information)
  • Plans, organizes, and delivers presentations that demonstrate comprehensive knowledge, utilize up-to-date materials, supporting visuals and leave behinds, and meet established guidelines
  • Facilitates account meetings and demonstrates interpersonal skills during the meeting, while maintaining flexibility and adaptability of the customer’s position, level and needs
  • Manages trade funds within approved budget by brand and implements adjustments based on division objectives
  • Sells in promotions/pre-packs/displays to support national events
  • Uses Retail Link to maintain inventories; minimizes out of stocks
  • Secures planograms and evaluates promotions
  • Places new products within designated time frames
  • Enforces pricing guidelines and completes pricing surveys
  • Schedules and coordinates account merchandising activities
  • Develops and maintains high visibility with Target Buyers, key decision-makers and decision-influencers; leverages the power of SoftSheen-Carson’s market position against competitive threats to achieve business opportunities at retail
  • Other duties as assigned

Communicates market, trade and competitive information to Multi-Cultural Beauty:

  • Defines the problem, decision or opportunity
  • Provides perspective on implications to MCB business
  • Proposes alternatives and rational for potential solutions and actions steps
  • Analyzes and prepares annual strategic business planning for Target
  • Provides written direction to the field on Target’s procedures and all distribution, stock, planogram, price, promotion initiatives

Administration –

Manages administrative duties by:

  • Completing reports, planning, organizing and meeting deadlines on assigned activities
