Sr. Formulation Chemist-Skincare Pre-Development

As a Sr. Formulation Chemist, you will be responsible for the formulation and innovation of products within the Anti-Aging Skincare Pre-Development category.  Utilize your knowledge and experience from a diverse skincare and formulation background in order to create disruptive products in the field of Anti-Aging/Repair technologies.

Work in a team-oriented environment with strong collaboration within Research & Innovation globally, to ensure a smooth transition of products and technologies from upstream departments to the development team. With your strong personal/communication skills, you will interact with cross functional groups on both a local and global level in order to establish new deliverables, as well as support the natural progression of product development.


  • Creates formulas independently and follows up on product stability in addition understanding the relationship between formulation and product development.
  • Proposes new skincare products/technologies, focusing on consumer need gaps and trends.
  • Knowledgeable of the importance of processing, operating, and design factors that affect skincare formulations.
  • Responsible for documenting and interpreting data in order to support conclusions with minimal supervision.
  • Follows through on all aspects of projects under tight deadlines.
  • Collaborates and work effectively in a team-oriented international environment (Pre-Development Hubs in US, France, China, India, Japan and Brazil).
  • Communicates and presents technologies effectively to different global functions within the company (pole leaders, DI, CMI, evaluation, marketing, etc.)
  • Develops a wide knowledge base of the competitor’s patent environment and implement patent strategies to safeguard internal technologies.
  • Works closely with development labs to ensure a smooth transition of new products and technologies.
  • Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related scientific discipline with 2-5 years of post-doc or work experience.
  • Strong formulation background.
  • Ideal candidate will also possess intermediate knowledge of product innovation and development processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
  • Multi-lingual skills desirable.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the US on an on-going, permanent basis.
