Senior Make-up Artist

A Senior Make-up Artist represents the brand and its philosophies to the highest standard at all times. The Senior Make-up Artist leads their team by example with regards meeting retail objectives and productivity and demonstrates the highest artistic ability whilst keeping within the brand ethos; fun, feminine and dangerous.

 

Master Category Knowledge

  • Have a full understanding of the Urban Decay brand ethos, evolution and artistic direction

  • Have a full understanding of the four core Urban Decay pillars and all products and services

  • Attend, engage and participate in all brand& artistry training, and implement afterwards

  • Closely monitor competitor activity and products and have knowledge of account performance in relation to Department’s performance

  • Be at the cutting edge of make-up trends

  • Be able to offer the highest level of expertise in makeup techniques and personalised service

 

Execute Business & Operations

  • Achieve account and personal targets and key performance indicator objectives

  • Complete all personal paperwork and weekly artist reporting accurately, legibly and on time

  • Drive new client acquisition and customer retention through networking in your local community

  • Be aware of and abide by store rules and regulations

  • Closely monitor stock levels, following retailer guidelines, raising issues to line manager

  • Supports Regional and National Make-up Artists where necessary

 

Drive Selling Process/Techniques

  • Deliver luxury service at all times, ensures regular follow up of customers (contacts, appointments, waiting list, invitations)

  • Execute regular events and customer masterclasses to generate retail sales and strengthen brand loyalty

  • Make appropriate, personalised product and sample recommendations; systematically linking icon products with the UD range.

  • Use confident communication and presentation skills when educating customers

  • Drives brand awareness through social media streams

 

Foster Service Attitude

  • Shows passion for people and artistry

  • Follow grooming guidelines to promote the brand image

  • Acts as a brand ambassador

  • Ensures a high standard of hygiene in line with guidelines

  • Master customer profiling

  • Participates in external demonstrations/events

  • Coaches and motivates artistry team in store; assesses team artistry progression

  • Foster team spirit

  • Leads by example

  • Educates team on artistry techniques

  • Works effectively with colleagues in store, in the field and in head office
