Assistant Manager – Sales

LOCATION: Redmond, WA

 

SUMMARY

 

Assistant Manager, Sales will assist the Director, US Retail Sales as the key liaison between Clarisonic and B&M and respective retailer dot com channels (current accounts include Ulta, Sephora, SiJCP, Costco and Military). This position is critical to ensure the product assortment will be constantly up-to-date and marketing assets are live online. The Assistant Manager, Sales will also assist in building an effective strategy for the accounts to ensure Clarisonic is competitive and gaining share in the respective retailers. This position will also interact with the buying office in all aspects of the ordering process to ensure the company’s net goals are met, while playing an instrumental role in the planning and execution of marketing initiatives for each of the assigned accounts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Assist with the management of retailer.com sites and in-store digital platforms (i.e. Sephora Skincare IQ): updating images, copy, banners, classifications (Best Sellers/What’s New) and the planning and execution of marketing initiatives to ensure a robust retailer.com growth throughout the year
  • In conjunction with the Director- US Retail Sales , this position will support achieving net sales goals. Manage daily, weekly and monthly retail sales trends including competitive retail reports.
  • Actively participate in open to buy negotiation and forecasting sales for new sku’s within the retailer ordering systems for assigned accounts
  • Responsible for the overall stock levels and ensure appropriate product mix of stock is available in the stores by assuring timely ordering, proactively monitoring and resolving low or out of stock conditions.
  • Work in close partnership with the Director - US Retail Sales  and merchandising teams to optimize the planograms and identify opportunities and develop recommendations based on retailer and industry trends.
  • Responsible for preparing account meeting information in conjunction with Director, US Retail Sales .
  • Manage entry of all co-op spend, returns, and markdowns in the LEAP Financial System for all B&M accounts.
  • Serve as point person for the execution and day to day operations
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams for optimal results on programs
  • Track progress of programs and analyze results

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities to effectively meet the responsibilities:   

  • Must possess sound computer proficiency (particularly with Microsoft software applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access)
  • Solid analytical, written, and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to demonstrate independent judgment
  • Ability to work in a team environment along with working independently when necessary (self-motivated)
  • Basic knowledge of IRI and any Space Management Software (i.e. ProSpace, Intercept, and Intactix) preferred
 

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

  • Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential job functions
  • Bachelor degree and minimum of 3 years experience in a corporate sales role and/or digital experience preferred
  • 1-2 year experience selling in a retail environment; cosmetic expertise is a plus
  • Self motivated, results oriented, creative thinker
  • Strong communication, presentation and organizational skills
  • Analytical in approach to identifying opportunities
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Strong negotiation skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OR REQUIREMENTS

Duties may require travel, overnight stays, and weekend availability
