Job Title:  Consumer Promotions Manager/Sr. Manager

Reports to: AVP - Consumer Promotions

Location: New York, New York

Position Summary:

**Please note there are 2 positions available.  One for LP and one for MGe, both based in NYC office.**


Seeking an experienced Consumer Promotion Manager to Senior Manager level candidate to manage various mass market National Consumer Promotions, with a primary focus on coupons.  You will manage plans for 4 categories (Hair Care, Hair Color, Skin Care, Cosmetics).


CP (Consumer Promotion) function at L’Oreal manages category-specific as well as cross-category strategic Consumer Promotion planning, execution and analysis. Primary interaction with Marketing, Finance, Sales, Shopper/Customer Marketing, Digital, Media, Creative, Revenue Growth Management, Research, Legal, as well as various promotional agencies.


Various promotions include the following:

  • FSIs
  • Digital/Mobile Coupons
  • In-store Signage & Coupons (e.g., News America)
  • Targeted Couponing Vehicles (e.g., Catalina)
  • Display Tear Pad/IRC Coupons
  • Money Back Guarantees
  • Rebates
  • Direct Mail

Responsibilities include:

  • Overall promotion budget development including Redemption Rate Forecasting, Analysis and Risks/Opportunities for Coupon Redemption/Media.

·         Strong background in coupon project management including: FSI/in-store planning/reservation/ challenge processes, coupon Family Codes, as well as overseeing coupon scanning/market list approvals/art/assets and general timelines/processes. 

·         Lead interpretations of promotion results on various metrics including Sales lift, ROI, Marketing Mix analytics, etc. Provide program recommendations to Marketing.

  • Coupon budgeting, forecasting, coupon/values scenario planning, Risks-Opps assessment, analysis, re-planning (30%)

  • Strategy/learnings/plan development/competitive learnings/etc (25%)

  • Project Management/Execution including, contracts, proofing, sales updates, art, FSI/In-store insertion Reservation/Challenge processes, etc (25%)

  • Vendor proposals/assessment/results/negotiations/capabilities/etc (10%)

  • Special Projects/All Other

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • BA/BS in Communications, Marketing, Business Management
  • Digital Promotion experience preferred
  • 4-8 years’ experience with CPG brand and/or promotional marketing (would consider promotional agency or supplier experience)

Skills:

  • Proficient in coupon execution including coupon codes, Family codes, coupon clearing process, guidelines & industry legal standards
  • Strong experience in coupon redemption financial management/forecasting/ analysis
  • Understanding of FSI Allocations/Reservation/Challenge process
  • Strong computer skills required including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, business acumen and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must demonstrate excellent problem-solving, sound judgment, organizational and planning skills
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
