Purpose of role:

 

This role will utilize analytical, purchasing, sales and marketing knowledge to effectively plan future consumer demands. This role works proactively across multiple functional teams, identifying variances/nuances, to plan the inventory requirements for the future. This role will challenge other departmental teams through research and analysis of trends and economic changes to ensure that sufficient stock is being procured in a timely and accurate manner.




Role Definitions

Key Job Accountabilities:

 

   


     

    Demand Planning

    • Analyzes, and reconciles sales trends and future business drivers to create accurate top-line and bottoms up SKU forecast at the channel level.

    • Develop internal/external relationships to align on forecasting strategies

    • Present forecasts and recommendations to ensure alignment across all business partners

    • Identify and communicate inventory risks and opportunities

    • Drive to exceed forecast accuracy targets set by International

    • Recommend actions to clear aged/discontinued goods and maximize inventory ROI

       

      Financial Planning

    • Continue to evolve the sales & operational planning process to support the business goals through our 3 core channels

    • Gather & synthesize market intelligence to fine tune our planning schedule

    • Continue to develop relationships with key departments (Brand / SC / Finance)

    • Bring data / insight & confidence to the leadership team to help make key decisions

    • Monitor performance of Newness/Core to drive quarterly and annual Budget analysis

    • Build accurate bottoms up budget and targets to meet and beat planned sales.

       

    Buy Process

    • own & drive the buy process in partnership with merchandising team

    • Gather/challenge/synthesize market intelligence (benchmarks / trends) to generate the buy qty/$$

    Wholesale

    • Develop strong relationships with internal/external Wholesale counterparts to drive forecasting process

    • Advocate for changes to Wholesale process to maximize fill rate and sales performance

    • Support Wholesale team in adhoc analysis to optimize range / buys

     

    REPORTING

    Reporting & Analytics

    • Evaluate the reporting needs of the business (current state)

    • Identify reporting overlaps and propose recommended changes to streamline

    • Leverage International IT to automate reporting

    • Leverage IT to create a well-defined hierarchy in SAP for better insights into performance.

       

    OTHER

    Stock management

    • In partnership with Supply Chain Retail Ops, Finance & Profit Protection, define a stock management process which protects our business from SLOBs and ageing stock.

    • Partner with Supply Chain to maximize stock availability and mitigate any OOS or pressures in other channels

       

    PQ & Planogram

    • In partnership with Brand, Creative, Supply chain, review current PQ process & rules to help generate better stock availability at store level

    • Implement proposed changes



    Experience:


    • 2-3 years experience in planning and forecasting

    • Must have a clear understanding of basic financial and inventory measures (sales, gross margin, and weeks of supply)

    • Experienced Excel user. Proficient in Microsoft office

    • Good analytical skills, with a history of working with large data sets

    • Excellent attention to detail

    • Strong communication and organizational skills

    • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment, and as an individual contributor

    • Must be flexible and adaptive to changing priorities

    • Must be resourceful and self-motivated

       

      Qualifications:

       

    • Educated at Bachelor Degree level.

    • Advanced pc skills to include detailed knowledge of Microsoft Excel

    Personal requirements for role

     

    Experience:

    • At least 3 years of Commercial analysis experience in business related field preferred
    • Knowledge of store replenishment or experience desired

     

    Qualifications:
