Junior Marketing Associate – Research & Innovation Consumer & Market Intelligence Team

The L'Oréal USA 12-Month Junior Marketing Associate internship program allows creative visionaries and strategic thinkers to enhance their marketing knowledge in a fast-paced and hands-on environment. The JMA program is paid internship opportunity that requires a candidate who has graduated with a degree within the last 12 months and is able to work up to 40 hours per week.

Job Summary:  The Consumer & Market Intelligence Team (CMI) drives consumer-centric thinking and analyses that facilitates management decision-making on broad strategic as well as tactical day-to-day marketing and business issues.

You should be analytical, a self-starter, familiar with social media and passionate about beauty (Hair Color, Hair Care, Hair Styling, Skincare, Makeup). 

Responsibilities:

• Identify and track new product launches in makeup, skincare and hair care, as well as keep a pulse and track consumer behavior shifts in market
• Explore competitive activity in the beauty market (Hair Color, Hair Care, Hair Styling, Skincare, Makeup);
• Co-ordinate in-person Clark events /workshops related to specific topic areas
• Conduct Web Listening initiatives dedicated to a specific topic, leveraging a variety of internal and external tools
• Compile written summaries of market trends and new products leveraging sources such as Nielsen or NPD. Manage complex data files, including keeping them up to date and sending to key internal partners

Requirements

• Recent graduate (within 12 months) of a BA degree in a marketing or digital related field.
• Legally authorized to work in the US on a fulltime, permanent, and ongoing basis without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
• Self-starter and capable of working under minimum supervision
• Well-developed computer skills, including Word, Excel and Power Point required
• Ability to manage, prioritize multiple assignments and work efficiently while remaining flexible to unforeseen changes in direction
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, planning skills and follow up skills
• Enthusiastic team player, creative/innovative thinker with a passion for process improvement
• Excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and sense of urgency in a fast paced work environment 
• Excellent/oral written communication skills
• Knowledge of various social media outlets (blogs, online review websites, etc.)
• Familiar with beauty products (Hair Color, Hair Care, Hair Styling, Skincare, Makeup)
• Proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
