Salesforce Commerce Cloud Architect

You will be joining our eCom CoE Team as a Principal e-Commerce Solution Architect. This role combines both Software and Enterprise Architecture skills. The ideal candidate is a business-oriented professional with a strong hands-on technical background in Computer Science and working experience in e-commerce, specifically Salesforce Commerce Cloud platform (formerly Demandware). We are looking for an entrepreneur and curious Solution Architect with technology vision, and the ability to influence teams through technology challenges while driving the teams towards target architecture.
Design and provide solutions to the L’Oreal business via technology and process innovation.
Identifies, evaluates and recommends options, implementing if required.
Assess cost and benefits of each possible solution and effectively recommend alternatives (build versus buy) and options that are most cost effective while providing the needed capabilities.
Seek to fully address Business needs, enhancing the capabilities and effectiveness of the program by ensuring that proposed solutions are properly understood and appropriately exploited.
Serve as technology advisory board and assist stakeholders in optimizing and simplifying eCommerce product suites.
Establish collaborative and productive relationships with internal IT department, business partners, external vendors and service providers.
Ensure appropriate technical leadership skills are present at every level by creating supportive work environment in which team members are coached and trained
Solution Architecture and Design competencies:
Leading end-to-end architecture of e-commerce platform creating technology vision, and work with the multiple product vendor architects to realize the technology vision
Lead the development of architectures for complex systems, ensuring consistency with specified requirements agreed with both external and internal customers.
Responsible for establishing the right the balance between functional, service quality, security and systems management requirements.
Establish policy and strategy for the selection of systems architecture components, and co-ordinates design activities, promoting the discipline to ensure consistency.
Ensure that appropriate standards (corporate, industry, national and international) are enforced.
Manage the target design and standards and work proactively to maintain a stable, viable architecture and ensure consistency of design across projects within the program.
Reviews others' systems designs to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, and integration of multiple systems and technology.
Evaluate and undertakes impact analysis on major design options and assesses and manages associated risks.
Maintains and applies up to date, specialist knowledge of database concepts, object and data modelling techniques and design principles, and a detailed knowledge of the full range of database architectures, software and facilities available.
Investigates corporate data requirements, and applies data analysis, data modelling and quality assurance techniques, to establish, modify or maintain data structures and their associated components (entity descriptions, relationship descriptions, attribute definitions).
Design and implement payment-processing eCommerce solutions that integrate industry-standard OMS, CRM, WMS, and 3PLs
Participate in PCI and Data Privacy compliance process; and follow their standards in architecting solutions.
Requirements management competencies:
Facilitate scoping and business priority setting for large or complex changes, engaging senior stakeholders as required.

Drive the requirements elicitation process where necessary, identifying what stakeholder input is required.

Programming / Software development competencies:
Designs, codes, tests, corrects and documents complex programs and scripts from agreed specifications, and subsequent iterations, using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered platform.
Takes part in reviews of own work and leads reviews of colleagues and external partners work.
Takes account of specialist requirements (e.g. geocoding, for geographic information systems).
Lead by example, mentor internal and external engineers and drive a community of architects.
Advocate code reuse, maintainability, and consistency across multiple team members and / or projects, and determine the approach in managing code branching and merging
Promote and coordinates technical knowledge harvesting within the organization.
Continuously monitor team performance, organizational efficiency and provide improvements.
Provide team members with clear direction and targets that are aligned with business needs and objectives
Craft and maintain architecture documentation and other living documents that reflect architecture vision.
Conducts evaluation of solutions with respect to standards, industry best practices, and acceptance criteria, e.g. performs performance testing, requirements analysis, and technical documentation reviews.
Relationship and Communications Competencies:
Develops trusted and open relationships with key E-Commerce business and IT partners at top management level.
Translates stakeholder engagement strategies into actionable plan with defined milestones.
Facilitates open communication and discussion between stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact by developing, maintaining and working to stakeholder engagement strategies and plans
Coordinate with other discipline leaders (creative, UX, frontend, optimization, data, CRM, OMS, ...)
Engage with product vendors to understand product roadmaps, provide L’Oreal requirements to vendors.
Emerging technology monitoring
Monitors the market to gain knowledge and understanding of currently emerging technologies and innovations.
Identifies new and emerging software technologies and products based on own area of expertise, assesses their relevance and potential value to L’Oréal, contributes to briefings of staff and management.
Qualifications and Skills
B.Sc. / M.Sc. or similar in IT
10+ years of relevant experience in Retail with focus in building/supporting capability solutions preferably in the apparel industry and especially in the e-commerce/omni-channel but not limited to the same
Minimum of 6 years of experience as an architect in building complex, highly scalable, high volume, low latency and cloud agnostic e-commerce applications.
Salesforce Commerce Cloud (Demandware), Magento, Hybris or ATG, …. Enterprise order Management or equivalent Retail e-commerce platform experience preferred
Solid hands-on technical understanding and grasp of technologies for the web environment and mobile apps
Experience with SOA, Object Oriented Design, various design patterns, Micro services, MVC, APIs, SOAP and REST
Experience integrating third-party OMS, CRM, PIM, DAM, PSP, Loyalty Providers, and 3PLs.
English language (fluent). French is a strong plus
