Job purpose

To provide accurate and timely legal advice to company’s internal clients on all corporate matters and law that impacts, or may impact L’Oreal Romania. To support the company in the identification and management of legal risks.

Main Accountabilities

• Draft and negotiate all types of legal documents: internal and external to the Group, commercial, property, selective distribution, purchase contracts, yearly agreements, NDA, etc.;

• Adapt to national and international data protection requirements;

• Corporate matters: creation and closing of corporations, brand purchases, powers of attorney & commercial register, communication with the HQ;

• Advise the operational and functional departments in all fields of business law (in particular competition, distribution, advertising, intellectual & physical property, regulatory & labelling and IT contracts…);

• Provide legal watch and optimize legal security/compliance: creation of legal documents and guidelines to ensure a high legal standard, reporting of litigations, compulsory standards, develop new processes to secure operations;

• Litigations and transactions: decide on the appropriate procedures to implement (pre-litigation, trial and/or transactions) in cooperation with the concerned departments and external counsels;

• Increase operational and functional departments awareness of Group best practices (in particular the legal charter)

• Select and manage external counsels;

• Ensure constant contact with the Zone and Corporate in order to respond in the most appropriate manner

Knowledge & Skills for this job

  • University degree in Law;
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in a similar position;
  • Previous experience in FMCG industry is an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;
  • Confidence, sound judgement and self-reliance;
  • Ability to work autonomously and on own initiative;
  • Ability to prioritise and work well under pressure;
  • Experience in interpreting legislation into practical application;
  • Experience in training and communicating legal requirements and procedures;
  • Strong analytical skills and experience of analysing complex issues;
  • Keeps continuously informed of relevant legal evolutions and internal norms to provide his/her clients with relevant advise;
  • Fluency in English is a must; French knowledge is a plus.
