The Corporate Affairs team at L'Oréal UK and Ireland are responsible for building and protecting the reputation of the Group and its 34 brands.


Be responsible for proactively identifying and maximising opportunities to promote the Group in the UK and Ireland, delivering priority corporate PR. You will lead the monitoring of, and preparation for, issues across Corporate and Brand topics. You will provide counsel to colleagues working in brand communication roles as well as senior leaders within the business. The role reports into the Head of Communications.

• Formulate and manage the delivery of proactive corporate PR and campaigns
• Establish a best in class press office integrated across platforms and channels, developing corporate narrative and messaging for the Group, divisions and business units
• Generate compelling news stories for a wide range of corporate media, maximising a number of media channels and platforms. Create engaging UKI specific content for owned channels
• Build and own relationships with key journalists, commentators, industry bodies and influencers to maintain the reputation of the organisation, ensuring that views are sought and recognised, driving favourable coverage and commentary
• Plan and implement a full programme of business leadership activities, work collaboratively with multiple teams, business units and senior leaders to identify opportunities for media, public affairs, and other external engagements
• Act as a trusted counsellor to business stakeholders, identifying proactive reputation building opportunities and ensuring that they are appropriately supported and prepared for media activity, public affairs activity, and other external engagements
• Lead issues mapping and monitoring, anticipating and planning responses to emerging industry and corporate governance topics that could affect the reputation of the business. Responsible for ensuring the business is prepared for emerging industry and corporate governance topics and well informed on existing ones
• Manage brand related issues, providing counsel and support to brand colleagues  
• Carry out regular stakeholder analysis for long term relationship development, supporting the Head of Corporate Communications in the development and delivery of stakeholder engagement plans and relevant collateral
• Review brand marketing collateral to ensure adherence to relevant codes and advise on necessary changes required or risks to be managed and prepared for
• Support and deputise for the Head of Corporate Communications on issues and crisis management by working to prepare replies as needed and/or directly managing issue conversation

• Support the Head of Communications on the development and delivery of a public affairs engagement programme

• Relevant Corporate Communications experience, ideally within a consumer-facing sector either agency or in-house

• Proven track record of developing a strong corporate narrative, delivering high impact coverage and engaging owned content 

• Proven experience in identifying and managing high profile issues in a fast-paced, high pressure environment

• Wide ranging media relationships, excellent media handling skills 

• Impeccable writing skills

• Strong organisational and project management skills

• Strong presentation/communication skills with the ability to influence and inspire

• Ability to work in an ever changing & demanding environment
