Flows Manager - Trafford Park
To manage the stock flows for the Distribution Centre, through strong leadership of operations teams and collaboration with 3rd parties. Overall responsibility for the movement of stock both into and out of the DC. Your role as part of the Physical Distribution team is to ensure that efficiencies are driven through close management of supply, our internal colleagues, carriers and customers. Your role is key, to delivering a top class service to the Order prep and Logistics Teams whilst analyzing and managing the service the DC receives from our 3rd party partners. You will be responsible for and will play a key role in driving a world-class safety culture. You are key to creating an environment of continuous improvement and a culture of Interdependence where colleagues can solve problems themselves, both large and small. •Ensure a safe work environment is maintained for all – Lead your team to an Interdependent Safety Culture.
•Ensure optimal running of the DC flows function through leading and engaging the Flows team, planning required resources and workflows.
•Ensure inbound compliance of suppliers UK & International.
•Manage all direct carrier relationships including customer backhaul, establishing collaborative review schedule with clear performance measures.
•Manage physical 3PL flows activity including receipt, storage, preparation and dispatch during peak activity periods (Christmas Gifting)
•In partnership with other functions: Drive improvements in productivity, quality and safety.
•Ensure the required level of service is provided to Customers
•Track flows KPI’s, ensuring targets (inbound pallet compliance, carrier OTFR for deliveries) are met and formulate clear action planning for improvements.
•Develop a flexible, trained and motivated team via excellent communication and regular performance review meetings.
•Coach your Team Leaders to proactively develop themselves and their leadership style and empower them to drive improvements within the areas of their responsibility.
•Actively pursue Continuous Improvement, improving existing processes and challenging current ways of working.
•Share best practice with other L'Oréal DCs.
•Collaborate with customer supply chain teams to prepare for peak periods, national holidays, promotions, launches, etc.
•Manage all operational cost relating to Flows, using budget models and trends to control Labour and Transport costs.
