Consumer Products Division

The Consumer Products Division’s mission is universal: to offer the best in cosmetics innovation to the greatest number of people on every continent. Its brands are available in all mass-market channels (hypermarkets, supermarkets, pharmacy’s and retail stores). The division is the spearhead of the group’s quest to win over a further billion consumers. The Consumer Products Division includes popular brand such as L’Oréal Paris, NYX Professional Make-Up, Garnier, Maybelline & Essie.

Head of Category Development & Shopper Insight

Be the Consumer Products Division UKI lead for category development and shopper insight across total Health and beauty, all retailers and all categories. Including the development and launch of CPD shopper strategy.
Lead a Category team of 11; hire, coach and develop a talented team. Building capabilities for now and the future. 
Drive cross-functional development of channel insights (particularly with Consumer Market Insight/ eCommerce community) as part of the category strategy annual process
Ensure we build and integrate winning category and shopper insights across the division, educating stakeholders.
Create a prioritised cross-category channel strategy for High Street/ Grocery/ Discounters.
Develop the culture and engagement of your team with a focus on continuous learning.
Commercialise external insight e.g. Category opportunity Size Of Prize (including Range Review’s).
Present quarterly Health & Beauty market insights to senior leadership teams educate and update on consolidated key market dynamics and recommendations.
Provide rolling 18 month category and shopper research insight forecast based on core business challenges and opportunities.

Further develop L'Oréal CPD contact and influence matrix by developing partnerships at senior category meetings with our customers.

Experience preferably within a consumer driven and fast past sales environment
Agent of change - Ability to create new ideas and drive them through a business
Highly experienced category & shopper expert
Strong presentation/communication skills with the ability to influence and inspire
Highly numerate – strong analytically and Good commercial acumen, driven by targets with a desire to succeed. Commercial experience a strong plus
Team management experience -Ability to inspire, motivate, coach and develop people
Strong sensitivity to the beauty industry, product appreciation and an eye for aesthetics
