Consumer Products Division

Senior Communications Manager - Garnier

The Consumer Products Division’s mission is universal: to offer the best in cosmetics innovation to the greatest number of people on every continent. Its brands are available in all mass-market channels (hypermarkets, supermarkets, pharmacy’s and retail stores). The division is the spearhead of the group’s quest to win over a further billion consumers. The Consumer Products Division includes popular brand such as L’Oréal Paris, NYX, Mixa, Garnier, Maybelline & Essie. 


  • Develop and lead brand strategy, working with Marketing to implement this within each category.
  • Guardian of the brands image. Cast a critical eye over all content creation, key campaigns working with marketing. Ensure creative/visual outputs are to a high standard (e.g. Event production, invitations, press releases, content).
  • Guardian of brands reputation and that there is a reactive strategy in place in case of Crisis i.e. statements. Ensure all key stakeholders informed.
  • Ensure that the brand vision is communicated to press contacts so that each product launch has a story / context (ingredients, sustainability, and packaging innovation) beyond just the product itself.
  • Develop and drive integrated marketing campaigns for key launches for 360 plans encompassing comms/PR, influencers, digital and social.
  • Meaningful relationships with all key press contacts, agents etc. to ensure all launches and stories land in the right press & social in the right way.
  • Own and manage all partnerships e.g. British Skin Foundation, Allergy UK, TerraCycle, Ocean Conservancy.
  • Own & manage brand comms calendar; major launches, no clashes on messaging and go-live etc.
  • Budget management (comms, events, social (Generation Garnier)) by brand and category.
  • Create and write (with the support of Product Brand Managers) the Garnier quarterly newsletter and launch this to all of CPD.
  • Manage and lead monthly IMC tribe meetings with Digital and Social
  • Report and analyse secured PR coverage and organic social using appropriate systems: My Market insight, Netbase etc.
  • Own spokesmodel contracts and relations with agents (shoot logistics, campaign approvals, event logistics, glam squad etc.)
  • Own senior level media relations (Beauty Directors, Editors, online news, showbiz / news desks etc.)
  • Oversee brand events & eventing strategy throughout the year, liaising with GM & BBLs.
  • Own DMI relationship with IMC team. Share local activations, learnings, opportunities etc.
  • Seeking out new opportunities of partnerships – identifying new talent we should be working with etc.
  • Lead on total brand/corporate campaigns or activations.
  • Manage Communications Trainee & Communications & Digital Intern
