Who We Are:

Inside L’Oréal’s Research & Innovation Division, Product Performance Evaluation is responsible for working with our over 35 brands, marketing, and scientists to design studies, collect feedback, and make important conclusions regarding our products using the latest instruments, methodologies, and techniques. We value the development of products that consumers find innovative, reliable, and sustainable. Whether it’s a product from one of our luxury brands, our professional products, or our consumer brands, we provide rigorous testing to ensure our consumers are getting the safest and highest quality products and experiences.

We are looking for talent that is obsessed with testing out the latest in beauty, uses data to back up important claims, and has a deep drive to ensure beauty products are held to the highest standards in quality and safety.

Join the Product Performance Evaluation Talent Community if you are:

  • An instrumental evaluator who has designed, executed, analyzed, and communicated on instrumental testing for knowledge studies to aid in formulation testing and claims substantiation
  • A sensory scientist who has designed, executed, analyzed, and communicated on sensory studies involving consumers and product test samples.
  • A consumer scientist who can lead qualitative and quantitative studies to provide actionable recommendations for product development, future launches, and business strategies
  • A clinical scientist who has designed, executed, analyzed, and communicated on compliant, clinical studies to aid in claims substantiation 
  • A licensed cosmetology professional who can provide detailed feedback on the properties and performances of beauty products

What you’ll Do:

As a member of our Product Performance Evaluation teams, you have a key role to play in the development of our products. Your responsibilities may include the following:

  • Track multiple projects with varying complexity and priority
  • Make appropriate testing recommendations for products based on project objectives and resources
  • Design, execute, analyze, and communicate on studies to key stakeholders and business partners
  • Evaluate products, their application and their performance on volunteers through short and long-term studies
  • Develop working relationships with cross-functional teams, labs, and international colleagues to ensure breadth and depth of product studies
  • Manage daily laboratory and evaluation center operations and work spaces
  • Maintain awareness of trends in the beauty market, as well as in the literature/field
