Section 2:  Job Summary:

The role of Sales Planner, Direct eCommerce will be tasked with instilling a data-driven approach to sales planning and forecasting across our portfolio of brands as we create the strategy to best reach our consumer and meet their needs.  This individual will be the key owner and developer of the processes involved in sales planning, forecasting, and inventory management used across each brand’s .COM business.  The sales planner supports each of the brand teams’ sell-in process with commercialization.  This individual will be the subject matter expert on seasonality for sales, the forecasting process, prior brand promotionality, and product launches across our portfolio of LUXE brands in order to help foresee & manage future opportunities.  They will be highly analytical and use their skillset to highlight major insights that will help the brands hit their sales targets.  This role must partner cross-functionally with each brand’s direct-to-consumer leadership, the marketing teams, and the Luxe Accelerator organization to ensure that each brand’s vision is brought to life and the consumer’s needs are met.  The sales planner will be tasked with taking a strong leadership role in bringing together and animating the sales planner community, consisting of the individual sales planners from our portfolio of LUXE brands.


This role drives collaboration and influences multiple levels of leadership to execute on the following key deliverables & responsibilities:


  • Develop a standardized end-to-end sales forecast process that can be scaled and implemented across our portfolio of LUXE brands, incorporating key metrics including customer sessions and overall net sales, to inform financial and inventory decisions inclusive of product mix, AUR, Sellthru, and Markdown vs. Reg Selling (core vs. promo vs. launch)
  • Identify, manage, and streamline the data sources associated with the sales process to ensure that validated data is being used throughout our forecasting and planning processes.
  • Collaborate with the demand planning organization to align on proper forecasting
  • Coordinate inventory management with our 3rd party distribution partners
  • Establish and manage a process to properly forecast cancellations, refunds and returns for our brands.
  • Collaborate with other business partners, including but not limited to finance, supply chain and the individual planning teams, to ensure that forecasts are consistent across all teams and channels.
  • Using historical data and partnering with the sales planner community, identify essential insights around product, promotional performance, and inventory that can be scaled across brands to  optimize long-term and short-term promotional plans and strategies.
  • Design tools that can be used across the organization, including our portfolio of brands, to create efficiencies and improve the sales planning process.
  • Cultivate a deep understanding of the luxury beauty consumer



Section 3:  Job Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree in Finance, Mathematics, or other analytical background
  • 5-7+ years experience in a role focusing on sales planning,  forecasting or a similar function; experience with direct-to-consumer businesses is a plus
  • Strong knowledge and skill with Microsoft Excel necessary; knowledge of other MS Office tools a plus
  • Expert knowledge and skill with data, data management, data activation and statistics, particularly as it relates to eCommerce and consumer analytics; experience with Demandware a plus
  • Strong knowledge and skill with creating projections & detailed forecasts
  • Ability to lead presentations and effectively analyze and translate data into actionable business plans
  • Creative problem solver with the ability to prioritize initiatives and anticipate business needs
  • Ability to build effective partnerships and interact successfully with diverse individuals at all levels
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data into actionable insights and optimizations

Section 4:  Judgment and Decision Making:

This role will require a balance of analytical thinking, communication skills and data management skills as it will require a demonstrated ability to develop consumer knowledge and insight and to act on the data in collaboration with internal brand & external account partners. It requires constant interaction within a matrixed business structure (Marketing, Ecommerce, GM, CMO) to coordinate work and deliver objectives. Actively builds networks and becomes in-house expert on the account database to influence, convince, and introduce new ways of improving how we meet the needs of our consumer.
