We are seeking a creative Scientist to join our Clinical/Claims Team. As a key member of the team you’ll design, coordinate and execute Hair Instrumental studies for claims substantiation. In this function you will be working cross functionally with the Development Labs (Haircare, Hair styling and color) as well as safety, regulatory and claims legal teams.

 Job Responsibilities:

· Designs, proposes, effectively executes, analyzes, and communicates the instrumental testing for claims substantiation and task forces related to hair products;

· Collaborates with labs, international colleagues, and evaluation team to determine which test methods are needed;

· Drives projects from inception to completion with quality, timeliness, and professionalism;

· Prioritizes project workload with supervisor, performs project tracking and scheduling;

· Analyzes instrumental test data and writes reports and memos to clearly communicate findings;

· Evaluates and summarizes published literature (internal and external) on various topics surrounding hair and hair testing;
· Works on expanding hair knowledge;

· Develops ways to improve efficiency of daily operation of the Claims/Clinical Evaluation group.


· Bachelors with 2 - 4 years of relevant working experience OR Masters with 1 – 2 years of relevant working experience; preferred areas of study include Biological, Physical or Material Sciences, Chemical Engineering or Bio-Engineering, Computer Science/Software Development/Programming, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields;

· Leadership skills required;
· Excellent interpersonal, communication (written/oral), and organizational skills;

· Capable of working in a matrix organization, including strong teamwork skills;

· Technical writing skills;

· Experience with experimental lab work;

· Experience with Instron, Diastron, Spectrophotometer, Differential Scanning Calorimetry, clinical photography, and/or Scanning Electron Microscopy highly desirable;

· Knowledge of hair, cosmetic properties and substrate – product relationship a plus;

· Proficiency in statistical and data analysis a plus;

· Knowledge of image-analysis and computational software such as MatLab, LabVIEW, ImageJ, and ImagePro a plus;
· Must be able to work on several complex projects at the same time with flexibility and organization;
· Must be proficient in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel;

· Must be legally eligible to work in the US on an on-going basis.
