The Department:

The Marketing Purchasing team oversees sourcing activities across all marketing initiatives for L’Oreal USA. This role operates at the core of the Digital Revolution of L’Oreal USA, supporting the Consumer & Market Intelligence (CMI) Teams and the CMO team by partnering and collaborating on projects pertaining to consumer-centricity.  

Basic Purpose of Position:

As the Senior Manager, Consumer Data & Insights, Marketing Purchasingyou will focus on sourcing strategies related to data and analytics impacting broader areas of marketing spend – advertising, digital, social, as well as influencing digital IT purchasing. You will manage a growing spend of $25MM+ and work with senior business leaders in the US and Europe to optimize value and impact to the L’Oreal business.  You will work closely with stakeholders on the CMI, and CMO teams as well as Marketing leads. You will engage in strategic sourcing, stakeholder management, supplier relationship management, continuous cost and performance improvement, contract negotiation and innovation.

You are expected to demonstrate a high level of category knowledge in marketing analytic as well as strong communication and financial skills to promote positive working relationships with business partners and suppliers.

The position supports and partners with several internal stakeholders, including brand marketing, integrated marketing, digital marketing, Omni-media, Customer Care Center and corporate IT across all levels (Manager/Director/VP/C-Suite).

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop strong relationships with your key stakeholders, be recognized as a valued partner and influence business decisions.
  • Drive the sourcing process, including spend analysis, needs assessment, supplier bid evaluations, negotiations and implementation plan, in order to deliver impact to the business
  • Lead a broad range of contract negotiations in close partnerships with L’Oreal’s legal and finance teams
  • Bring strong market knowledge and expertise
  • Build models for purchasing service hours
  • Manage key supplier relationships through periodic meetings and scorecards.
  • Partner with the business stakeholder and global category lead to adapt sourcing strategies to the US market.

 

Your experience / education:

  • At least 7 years’ experience in analytics at an agency or a brand
  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or related discipline; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience within purchasing is a plus

  • Digital Business & Analytics Knowledge and understanding of digital media/CRM concepts is a must

The position is based in New Jersey with the need to be in NYC regularly for meetings.
