L’Oreal Group has aggressively embraced the digital era and has advanced many leading consumer-facing digital solutions across its business units.  Marketing and advertising technologies are an area of vast strategic focus and it will power the next phase of our digital transformation through personalization across channels.  Our largest transformation is currently the Data Driven Marketing (DDM) Platform that empowers personalized marketing interactions across various channels including, in-store, online, in-app, mobile, and email and serve as the single hub for consumer insights and activation.

The Marketing and Advertising Technology Lead will be responsible for managing and expanding the data flow framework from source data to activation to measurement.  As the golden store of all information relating to our customers, products, and customer interactions, DDM will fuel interactions with our customers across channels with relevant data, in the right velocity and volume.  The architect will manage the omni-channel consumer data activation for all L'Oréal DDM brands.

We seek a Marketing and Advertising Technology Lead with experience in CDP, DMP, DSP, Ad-server, ESP, and other platforms to lead our effort to create omni-channel orchestrated experiences from setup to operations and support.  The data will be available for both real time and analytical use cases such as next best action, product and content recommendations, and promotion/offer optimization. The primary focus will be to build and run a modern flexible solution suitable for all brands across North and South America.  The Lead will continue to grow and maintain data and technologies in this MarTech ecosystem as the company’s maturity increases. 

What You Will Do:

  • Manage the activation of the single view of the customer using various activation platforms
  • Oversee the maintenance of the data from source to marketing activation across channels
  • Establish process to readily source new, additional data to our customer data hub to engage our customers
  • Support the modernization of L’Oreal MarTech stack
  • Work cross-functionally with the marketing team on campaigns and initiatives
  • Become L’Oréal’s solution expert in deploying and maintaining L’Oreal’s MarTech and AdTech platforms across email, SMS, mobile app, recommendation engine, and other
  • Work with Integration team to ensure consistency with L’Oreal  integration architecture framework and that data is integrated in a manner to meet functional requirements
  • Oversight of managed service vendor and internal team
  • Assist with reporting needs to help business understand adoption and performance with data analysis, query development, and troubleshooting data issues
  • Manage inbound and outbound integrations of the platform across the organization
  • Identify growth opportunities for brands usage of personalization through knowledge sharing, technical integrations, and expansion of channel activations

What We Are Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in Marketing Technologies (MarTech) and orchestration of consumer data for use in marketing campaigns across multiple channels
  • Understanding of adtech nuances with pixels, cookies/maids, and identity resolution
  • Experience or exposure with one of the following A/B testing tools: Salesforce Interaction Studio, Adobe Target, Google Optimize, Optimizely, or similar
  • Experience or exposure with one of the following recommendation/personalization engines: Salesforce Interaction Studio (Evergage), Bluecore, Blueshift, Dynamic Yield, RichRelevance or similar
  • Experience or exposure with one of the following adtech tools: Google Marketing Platform, The Trade Desk, Adobe Campaign, Amobee, MediaMath, Adform, Clinch, Innovid, Flashtalking, or similar
  • Experience or exposure with one of the following campaign management tools: Salesforce Email Studio, Adobe Campaign, Market, Braze, Localytics, Airship, Bluecore, Mailchimp, Klaviyo
  • Advanced knowledge of web technologies, specifically cookies, datalayer DOM, CSS and tag management
  • Basic knowledge  ETL/ELT and data engineering methodologies, preference for server-side streaming capabilities
  • Basic knowledge of data privacy and regulatory standards for consumer data activation
  • Experience working with APIs to collect/ingest and send data
  • Proficiency with industry standard BI and Data Visualization Tools such as Looker, Tableau, Domo, PowerBi, and others
  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or B.B.A. degree information systems preferred
  • Technical discipline with relevant work experience required (no degree)
  • Experience in Marketing Technologies (MarTech) and orchestration of consumer data for use in marketing campaigns across multiple channels
  • Prior experience working with Cloud technologies preferably AWS and Google Cloud
  • Strong project management skills and able to work in an Agile environment
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Experience leading technical teams with and without a direct reporting structure
  • Outstanding functional and technical communication skills and demonstrated business and IT collaboration
  • Design and governance of data management best practices such as normalization and identity management
  • Strong data management, governance, and analytical skills – ideally in the customer/consumer space
  • Ability to breakdown complex problems into singular pieces of concrete steps to deliverability
