Senior Manager, IT Retail Platforms & Application Development


The position will provide technical leadership in development of Retail platforms, integration along with Level 3 based system support for L’Oreal 600+ retail B2C and B2B store operations.  Sr. Manager of Development will drive the technology strategy for the Build pillar of Retail and Salon Centric stores and ensure completion of development lifecycle of Retail IT projects in harmony with the requirements across countries in the Americas zone.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Lead a dynamic team of onshore / offshore developers and assist Director of Development with transformation of the team to adapt to new agile ways of working in terms of planning, architecture and design, etc.
  • Follow Project Management methodology managing tasks and activities within the team displaying flexibility with all aspects of SDLC being comfortable with either Agile methodology where we are heading toward to or a hybrid of both Agile and Waterfall
  • Manage project deliverables through the entire development lifecycle for new applications, enhancements from estimation to delivery and hyper care  
  • Collaborate with other IT teams between L’Oreal and its vendors to ensure timely delivery of various tasks, projects and Level 3 Support requests and incidents
  • Actively participate in business and technology planning sessions to identify future needs adhering to a technology strategy  and business delivery roadmaps
  • Handle multiple issues/tasks/projects of varying size simultaneously as well as communicate status to all involved
  • Work with store operations and brand leadership teams to address issues about the functions or internal workings of store processes and systems
  • Exercise effective communications and foster team building
  • Partner with System Administrator with internal Retail IT to follow and support an internal production change control process
  • Manage all relations within Retail IT domain (IT/business/third parties/vendors)
  • Be the main point of contact for larger IT organization, including Retail IT, Infrastructure, Security, Digital and Governance teams

Technical Proficiency:

  • Expert level of Systems’ Architecture and IT Project Lifecycle
  • Strong Design and Development of Web APIs (Rest and SOAP)
  • Expert level of SQL Server Development, including Stored Procedures, Triggers, Functions, Assemblies
  • Working experience with Business Intelligence, SQL based SSRS, SSIS or other ETL tools
  • Experience with file based and API interfaces
  • Experience with Batch and VB Scripting
  • Knowledge / experience with Oracle databases
  • Working Knowledge of VB.Net  / C#.NET, Java Script, HTML
  • Proficiency in creating technical documentation and building flow charts 
  • Retail background or experience working with Retail Applications is a must
  • Knowledge of CEGID, GK or similar Retail platforms as well as SAP is a big plus

  • Project management experience at an enterprise level implementing integrated business processes that leverage system capabilities and best practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced multi-tasking environment demonstrating a high level of time management and organizational skills
  • Flexibility and willingness in making necessary compromises to accomplish a common goal.
