Job Summary:

Credit Specialist is responsible for achieving monthly cash forecast, by insuring that payment for all customer invoices is received.  Review credit held orders, research and approve new account applications, and analyze credit limits on a quarterly, yearly, and as needed basis.  Understanding when issues need to be escalated and provide appropriate summarized information to suggest / enable decisions. This position will effectively communicate with Sales, as well as our internal/external customers. 

Job Requirements:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, proven ability to work independently, and manage multiple priorities with a strong sense of urgency and initiative
  • Strong PC Knowledge – proficient in Excel, Word & Outlook
  • High degree of organization and analytical skills
  • Ability to present data collected and analyzed to management and above
  • College degree or equivalent work experience preferred

 

Judgement and Decision Making:

Judgment and decision making will be close to moderate depending on the situation. Supervision will be moderate to intermittent.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Review daily orders on credit hold, and make decision to release or hold accordingly
  1. Communicate with sales and customers regarding collection of invoices and other credit related issues
  1. Establish and maintain paying office credit limits and risk codes
  1. Maintain an acceptable DSO ( Days Outstanding) by monitoring accounts to insure invoices are current (reviewing daily reports)
  1. Pursue invoice EDI(Electronic Data Information) and EFT (Electronic Fund Transfer)  initiatives with customers
  1. Extract, analyze and present data to Sales & Management
  1. Research new account applications using established methods: D&B, F&D Reports, members of the  National Association of Credit Management (NACM) other L’Oreal divisions
  1. Compile data for month-end reports
  1. Assist Management with special projects as assigned
  1. Perform miscellaneous tasks and duties as assigned by supervisor/manager
