What You Will Do:

The Sr Mgr, Finance - commercial is responsible for providing strategic controlling and partnership to the sales organization. The position will oversee all CPD brands within a pillar of key CPD accounts, including but not limited to Food, Dollar Value and Broker customers. While providing gross to net controls and budget management, this position will work on full P&L negotiations including trade terms/margin, media, capital, new distribution and additional adhoc retailer investments. This role will have the opportunity to speak externally with retailers and act as the co-pilot for sales leadership. The commercial controller requires technical P&L expertise, as well as strong leadership capabilities to be an influential business partner.

Responsibilities: 

  • Partner closely with sales and cross-functional teams to provide financial guidance, support strategic decision-making and drive business performance
  • Manage net sales and minorations for multiple retailers
  • Trend/budget construction and analysis of sell out, sell in and gross to net of P&L.
  • Lead routine account calls with the business partners to review state of business results, budgets and strategic hot topics.
  • Responsible for the analysis of various reporting requirements, i.e. month close, trends/budgets , sell in/sell out analysis and inventory.
  • Support retail negotiations with full customer P&L scenarios to guide critical investment decisions for the CPD portfolio.
  • Liaison with deduction resolution team for AR management
  • Liaison with customer supply chain to manage customer fines/violations; stock in trade
  • Understanding of external retailers’ margin to ensure profitability and growth for both internal and external businesses
  • Provide financial leadership on commercial and business strategy

 

What We Are Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

Education/Experience Required:

  

  • 6-8 years of experience in finance preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required. MBA/CPA preferred.
  • Consumer products industry experience preferred.

 

Core Skills Required: 

 

  • Strong computer skills required; must have expert-level experience with Excel and Word.
  • Financial reporting experience and use of SAP, Hyperion, Lawson GL or similar systems highly desirable.
  • Must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills, business acumen, leadership skills, oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
  • Must have the ability to interact with all levels of management.

Additional Benefits Information As Follows:

Salary Range: $119,900 - $170,800 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
