Purpose of role:
To jointly manage the day to day running of the warehouse while ensuring that high performance standards are maintained, and improving the efficiencies and productivity within the allocated team through regular reviews.  To motivate your team whilst ensuring DC policies and processes are consistently adhered to in conjunction with Human Resources.  Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to retail pick pack, collation of orders for outbound shipment, 3rd Party shipments, ECOM order fulfilment, FLT operations, receiving and replenishment.


Role Definitions

Key Job Accountabilities:




  • To assign your team resources to the areas of the DC where the workflow team identifies where the workload priorities are.




  • Co-ordinate staff requirements with your peers and the management team, to ensure accurate completion of workloads, within agreed timescales and work volumes. 




  • To undertake employee reviews including KPI performance, performance reviews, absence management and other meetings where necessary.




  • Responsible for the quality and accuracy of all work amongst the allocated team members by the management team.




  • Manage and maintain high standards of housekeeping within and around the RDC and ensure that all operational processes are adhered to.
  • To use relevant IT tools including SAP, Excel, Word, E-mail and T&A to maximize productivity and efficiency within role.




  • To work cross functionally to assist other team supervisors in the performance management of their teams.



  • To conduct regular team briefings whilst passing on instructions and other communications from the management team whilst representing the business.



  • To support employee and management initiatives.



Other Responsibilities
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Responsible for maintaining the ethical standards of The Body Shop including minimizing the environmental, health and safety risks in the workplace.  Report potential risks, near misses and real accidents to relevant managers.


Personal requirements for role



  • 4 years’ minimum distribution or manufacturing supervision
  • 2 years’ experience in managing a direct-to-store retail and/or E-Commerce order fulfilment operation including order fulfilment, bin slotting, and dispatch.
  • Background in warehouse safety procedures and forklift training



  • College degree preferred, high school diploma required
  • Strong understanding of warehouse and distribution functions
  • Good verbal, numerical and written communication skills
  • Proven people management and coaching skills in a DC environment
  • Ability to lead, impact, and influence a team
  • Detail oriented and attention to accuracy
  • SAP preferred or other warehouse software experience required
  • Strong PC skills – Advanced MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel required
