Job Summary 

L’Oréal USA’s fastest growing division, L’Oréal Dermatological Beauty Division, seeks a AVP, Brand Sustainability to support the Sustainability team of CeraVe DMI. This role will be sponsored by the Brand General Manager and as part of the DMI management committee, will act as the sustainability leader to design the brand sustainability vision, strategy and roadmap and orchestrate its activation.  With the upcoming launch of L'Oréal's 2030 Sustainability Goals, this individual will need to continue to drive for results on our 2022 commitments for energy, water and waste, while also helping to define the beyond 2030 roadmap including Science Based Targets and more. 

 

Role & Key Responsibilities 

  • Build the brand sustainability vision, strategy and roadmap.
  • Frame an ambitious 2030 sustainability vision and strategy for the brand, in cooperation with the brand management committee and the division sustainability lead. 
  • Design, frame and animate a relevant brand cause together with the Corporate Responsibility team & relevant stakeholders.
  • Build ambitious brand claims & associated proofpoints consistent with brand purpose (circularity, biodiversity protection, cruelty free, etc. thanks to certifications, product lifecycle analysis)
  • Be the brand expert in sustainability and know your brand sustainability landscape (legislation, consumer trends, innovations, key actors) to advise your Brand Manager and DMI’s stakeholders on relevant opportunities. 
  • Be the brand spokesperson on sustainability internally externally (build progress report, activate external network for sustainability endorsement)
  • Share and align the brand roadmap with Division Sustainability Lead.
  • Orchestrate roadmap activation, roll out and monitoring. 
  • According to the Product footprints analysis and Brand sustainability scorecard, set a clear roadmap with intermediary milestones including product eco-design, social impact and disruptive sustainable innovations. Actively strive for continuous improvement.
  • Orchestrate all stakeholders (Operations, Pack dev, Labs, 

 Marketing teams) from the early stage of products development all through the product development process.

  • Deliver assets to claim and valorize sustainable improvements. Ex: products Technical Dossier to support countries in product sustainable knowledge.
  • Establish the right governance to roll out the brand sustainability roadmap, including the PIL roll-out at the DMI level and in key markets. 
  • Monitor and update Division Sustainability Lead and internal stakeholders on roadmap progress. Report on the progress to the Corporate Responsibility team according to global calendar. 
  • Engage and upskill all brand employees and stakeholders.
  • In partnership with HR and Communications teams, ensure the ManCom and all employees are informed and engaged on the brand sustainability commitments. 
  • Ensure all DMI (international and hubs) are upskilled through the L4TF learning journey completion awareness and identify specific learning needs.
  • Work in collaboration with the Comms team, build an internal/external communication plan on the brand sustainability vision, strategy and roadmap. 
  • Define an engagement strategy with consumers to position the brand as the leader in Sustainability for the main markets.   

 

 

Qualifications/Requirements 

  • Strong understanding and passion for people driven solutions within Sustainability renewable energy 
  • Strong analytical and strategic development skills 
  • Strong writing, oral and presentation skills 
  • Strong project management skills, including developing project plans, monitoring and meeting milestones, time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills 
  • Ability to work independently, be proactive, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced and results-driven environment 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with subject matter experts and non-experts alike, internal and external  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) 


Benefits Information As Follows:

 Salary Range: $145,300-$207,000 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
