What You Will Do:
The role of Director, Amazon Analytics and Insights will lead the Amazon Analytics team, tasked with accelerating brand sales on Amazon through data analysis and insights. This individual will lead the data driven approach to inform the strategy for all aspects of the sales planning, consumer, media, marketing, and operations.
To develop the strategies needed for success, this individual will ground themselves in a data-centric approach focusing on enabling the brands to be consumer first by taking analytical insights and applying them to consumer facing strategies. This individual will partner with the retail and brand teams to identify learnings and opportunities and transfer insights into actionable plans to drive incremental sales, consumer engagement, and ROI. The expectation is this individual will become an expert in Amazon analytics and 3rd party reporting tools used to enrich the data.
With a strong rigor in data supporting sales planning, content, CX, site merchandising, media and supply chain, this dynamic leader will partner cross functionally to accelerate this high growth business. We are looking for a consumer-focused, hands-on, analytical professional who is a skilled communicator and has a proven track record of building and developing analytics teams.
This role drives collaboration and influences multiple levels of leadership to execute on the following key deliverables.
Job Duties and Accountabilities
Support the growth on Amazon through data analysis and insights and execute a data driven approach for sales, consumer, media, search, content, and operations
Oversee the Analytics and Insights team
Develop, measure and track the KPIs for success across the Amazon business and share insights with the cross functional teams, this leader should help further a culture obsessed with these KPIs and recommend the necessary levers to improve the business
Deep understanding of how shoppers engage with the brands on Amazon and use that knowledge, produce actionable insights and develop the optimal fact-based strategy
Partner with the Retail team to drive the test and learn agenda / RTO by defining KPIs for success, measuring performance, and sharing learnings and results
Monitor competitive landscape and market share on Amazon through 3rd party reporting tools and identify opportunities for category growth
Understand cross channel impact and look holistically at brand and product performance across key retailers to understand the ecommerce ecosystem dynamics
Responsible for leadership and oversight of weekly/monthly/quarterly/ad hoc reporting
Lead the Amazon reporting tool enhancements for LUXE in partnership with the CDMO team
Define and uphold standards and processes for analysis & reporting, and ensure data integrity across all platforms
Be the expert for all questions related to Amazon Analytics, performance and industry benchmarks
Partner with the US Brand, CMO, Global CDO, International Digital Teams and other cross functional teams across L’Oréal globally to share analytics best practice and learnings
Key Challenges, Issues and Complexity
This individual is analytical and has strong communication skills. This person will drive the analytics and insights for the Amazon channel for the portfolio of brands while also leading a team to support a rapidly growing business. This role must be able to synthesize the data to identify trends and build business cases and tell the story through the data. This role has continuous interaction within a matrixed business structure (Marketing, CDMO, GM, Finance, Operations) to coordinate work and deliver objectives.
The individual must possess the ability to pivot quickly as this function is in constant evolution and the landscape is changing by the minute. This person must embody the L’Oréal values of ‘test and learn’ and ‘fail fast’ to learn the dynamics of what makes the Amazon business unique.
This individual is excited to dig into the data and identify learnings and insights that will help the greater division and its brands identify risks and opportunities while developing strong cross functional relationships.
This individual has strong time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, often-changing environment. This individual is also a proactive problem-solver, with the ability to anticipate obstacles and quickly generate alternate solutions/ideas.

What We Are Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
College Degree
7-10+ years working in an ecommerce analytics focused role
Experience working with retailers (Amazon is ideal but not required)
Strong experience with using data to identify insights and developing an action plan
Experience in building business cases to make recommendations
Expert knowledge and skill with data, data management, data activation and statistics, particularly as it relates to ecommerce and consumer analytics
Demonstrated strength in communication and influencing skills; not only written and verbal, but also in the engagement of internal and external business partners
Ability to lead presentations with executive audiences and effectively analyze and translate data into actionable business plans
Highly collaborative across different stakeholders in a matrixed environment
Strong projection & forecasting skills
Experience in Amazon Vendor / Seller Central is a plus
Open to new ideas and actively builds networks to achieve goals
Self-motivated, results and solution oriented, strategic thinker
Must demonstrate strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Must demonstrate solid experience in pulling, mining, and synthesizing data into stories

Advanced skills in Excel, data analysis and visual modeling (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
