We are seeking a Manager to join our Hair Competition Intelligence and Open Development team in our Clark , NJ Research facility. This role is responsible for building and monitoring the competitive landscape for our Consumer and Professional Product Divisions to drive the strategic framework for our Hair Care & Manageability métier. This role will also be responsible for delivering winning projects through Open development across our Divisions.

 

As a Manager in our Hair Competition Intelligence and Open Dev team, your main responsibilities are:

  • Supervise technical staff including priority setting, performance appraisals and training/development.
  • Monitor the US Hair Market and build detailed brand and product analysis of key strategic projects.
  • Lead rigorous scientific analysis to build a detailed understanding of key technologies by partnering with internal and external groups as well as other countries. 
  • Maintain good knowledge of competitor’s environments and close awareness of consumer need gap and marketing trends
  • Establish Competitive Landscape of different Hair categories
  • Understand the key business priorities and build strong connections with our Corporate Open Development team and vendors to deliver winning projects for our brands
  • Ensure business continuity by developing formulas that are compliant with US regulations as well as L’Oreal standards.
  • Launch winning products for CPD/PPD Dev teams and ensure the successful development and delivery on agreed projects with on time and to quality execution.
  • Drive innovation by identifying other winning products by partnering with vendors and Corporate OD to conduct the product development for launches across our brands.

 

To Succeed in this Position, You Have:

  • A completed Bachelor’s degree in a science related field is required
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in product formulation is required
  • Experience in the beauty/FMCG/CPG industry preferred
  • Experience with hair product formulations preferred
  • Supervisory experience of direct reports is required.
  • Experience in leadership role
  • Must be able to prioritize, handle multiple projects and work with various groups within a matrix organization
  • Must be adept at giving presentations to large group of professionals.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have strong skills in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Must be able to think out of the box and willing to take an extra step to get job done.
  • Proven leadership skills with a strong results orientation, positive "hands on" attitude and a sense of urgency to get things done with demonstrated grace and even temperament under pressure.
  • Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent, ongoing basis without the need for legal sponsorship now or in the future (required)
