Title: Customer Development Manager

Reports to: VP - Customer Team Leader, Walgreens - MGe

Mission and defining characteristics:

  • The CDM is also known as the data guru.  They are the expert on all category analysis for both L’Oreal brands and key competitors
  • Identify and share business building opportunities on their specific brand and category to grow share profitably with Walgreens.
  • Member of Brand Sales team focused on specific customer in field and supporting the NAM’s for all meeting prep
  • Category expert for the Brand and competitive products at a specific customer
  • Leads execution of all account specific events for the brand

Main tasks:

Customer Developer

  • Identify and define the growth levers relevant to customer with specific focus on the shopper so selling is through shopper insights
  • Stays up to date with markets, consumers, and customers

Team Member

  • Drive the business as key member, by collaborating with multifunctional team and leveraging all insights to drive brand growth. Develops commercial insights from all reporting needed to run the business
  • Help support development of more junior team members (e.g., BA)

Category Support

  • Develops opportunities from top door analysis, new item and hero item evaluation, JBP tracking
  • Key point of contact for team reporting needs
  • Is the expert on all category analysis for own brand and competitive brands and overall category

Results Driver

  • Owns the analysis of account specific events, gross to net, shipments, retail sales and new items sales
  • Track sales and forecasting and proactively identifies actions in alignment with NAM to address gaps and opportunities
  • Supports NAM and eNAM on eComm objectives and growing e-share of business for category

Main interfaces:

  • Dir / NAM
  • Sales Admin
  • eNAM for customer and CTL
  • Support field teams: Operations and Supply, Commercial Finance, Cat Dev, Customer Marketing, et al.
  • Centralized support: Brand Shopper Marketing, Sales Ops

Measures of success:

  • Deliver sales target and brand sales fundamentals for category incl. sell in/sell out, distribution points and ROI
  • Achievement of top strategic priorities for relevant category
  • Market category penetration for eComm
  • Team 360° feedback
  • Advantage/ Kantar scores
  • Retailer scorecard

Qualifications/experience:

  • Minimum 3+years’ experience in a
    customer-facing role
  • Proven knowledge of retailer strategies and objectives
  • Strong knowledge of customer strategy and key levers as well as competitors
  • Deep knowledge of beauty and personal care, specifically for given category and retailer data/syndicated data

Salary range: $81K-113K
