KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Under the supervision of the CFO and Group Tax Expert, contribute to the creation and protection of L’Oréal’s assets by advising and guiding internal clients in his/her areas of tax regulation expertise. Own the production of financial statements and reporting within the deadlines set by the Group and the various legal bodies (consolidation reporting for the Group, end-of-year local accounts, tax and legal statements, declarations):


  • Guide and advise on tax compliance, tax returns, tax payments

  • Draw up transfer pricing policy and review indirect and payroll taxes for compliance and accuracy

  • Draft a set of financial accounts , draw up directors and shareholders resolutions and perform similar corporate Finance tasks

  • Contribute to the preparation and follow-up of tax claims, tax credits (customs formalities, tax deductions)

  • Anticipate, identify, evaluate tax risks for his/her area of expertise and provides solutions

  • Contribute  to the management and coordination of tax audits, tax litigations

  • Communicate efficiently with the Internal Tax network to alert and raise awareness of tax matters relating to business projects and risks (CFO’s., L’Oréal h including the headquarters, tax contacts including the Zone and the Group Tax Department)

  • Develop close coordination and cohesion with the internal tax stakeholders (country, zone, and Group Tax Department) on tax matters related to their area of expertise

  • Develop an efficient professional network to collect best practices, tax alerts regarding new regulations

  • Keep continuously informed and understands the evolution of local regulations regarding accounting GAAPs and fiscal regulations and initiate appropriate changes in systems and procedures

  • Drive continuous process improvements to increase the quality and efficiency of accounting services, including the local implementation of the Group initiatives.

  • Ensure close collaboration with other local teams (controlling, HR, Purchasing) to facilitate the production of accounts and the implementation of new initiative

  • Ensure that support tax documentation is correctly stored locally

  • Interacts effectively and works closely with the TAX community as well as other functions (CFO’s, Accountants, Controllers, Legal, IT)

  • Anticipates and prevents tax risks

  • Evaluates the financial and fiscal impacts in order to have a better view of the tax/customs challenges

  • Negotiates & convinces internal actors ( CFO’s, Accountants, Controlling, IT, Legal) & external  ( Tax administration, lobbies, consultants)

  • Mobilizes internal and external actors in order to solve issues

  • Ensures effective and timely reporting to internal stakeholders : hierarchy, The Group Tax Department

  • Takes ownership of action plans and follow-up on tax issues

     

    ENSURE EFFICIENT FLOW OF FINANCIAL STATEMENTS (ACCOUNTING & CONSOLIDATION)

     

  • Produce accurate financial reporting in due time

  • Centralizes and challenges information from the other department in order to justify accounts production

     

    ACT AS PROACTIVE BUSINESS PARTNER (ACCOUNTING AND CONSOLIDATION)

     

  • Uses OA know & market finance expertise to understand improve, challenge & provide strategic reconciliation contribution to overall effectiveness of the business

  • Seizes all transformation levers to increase contribution of function to overall efficiency & sustain growth of OA (processes, tools, communication and training)

     

    ENSURE THE BEST IN CLASS ACCOUNTING SERVICES

     

  • In his/her field of responsibilities, implements/ensure guidelines, tools, processes are implemented in order to provide the most efficient services

  • In his/her field of responsibility, proposes improvements in guidelines/processes/tools

  • Detects errors, anomalies, highlights discrepancies and implements appropriate actions, making the best use of tools provided by the Group  

  • Analyses, clarifies and simplifies information to facilitate the identification of risks/issues and action/decision making

  • Work close with accounts (local. Zone. Group)& financial, tax & treasury teams to ensure information accuracy, alert risks/issues & provide solutions

     

    MAXIMIZE FINANCIAL SYSTEMS &DATA MANAGEMENT (ACCOUNTING AND CONSOLIDATION)

     

  • Masters IS & leverages knowledge/intuition around systems/data management to provide insight into critical issues (SAP, Compass, Magnitude)

     

    MASTER ACCOUNTING NORMS AND INTERNAL CONTROL

     

    Exhibits reporting control & ensure compliance of transactions as it relates to the Group accounting & management standards (GAAP/IFRS)

     

     

EDUCATION

    • B Com ( Accounting/Taxation)

       

      EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a formal financial accounting role with solid experience in managing corporate tax

    • Prior work experience in FMCG
