We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Officer to join our team to replace our current officer who will be enjoying their retirement. In this role, you will be responsible for processing weekly payments and ensuring the accuracy of payroll data for our retail and warehouse population. You will collaborate closely with our outsourced payroll provider to maintain data accuracy and run variance checks. Additionally, you will be responsible for performing maintenance tasks on our legacy payroll system.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with key stakeholders including our outsourced payroll vendor, HR team, Reward function and finance function
  • Process weekly payments accurately and efficiently for our retail and warehouse population.
  • Collaborate with our outsourced payroll provider to ensure the accuracy and integrity of payroll data.
  • Conduct variance checks to identify and resolve any discrepancies in payroll calculations.
  • Perform regular tasks on the legacy payroll system to ensure its smooth operation.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll-related matters in a timely and professional manner.
  • Stay updated on relevant payroll laws, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance.

 

ABOUT YOU

  • Previous experience as a Payroll Officer or in a similar role, preferably with experience in processing retail and warehouse pays.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, calculations, and relevant legislation.
  • Proficiency in using payroll software and systems, ideally Chris 21. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated empathy and sensitivity when dealing with confidential matters.
