The Opportunity:
The AVP of CPD In-Store Strategy & Planning is one of the most dynamic and high-impact roles within L'Oréal's Consumer Products Division — sitting at the intersection of shopper intelligence, in-store strategy, and physical retail execution for one of the world's most recognized beauty portfolios. This leader owns the intelligence behind the total store vision for CPD and how beauty comes to life at retail; where insight becomes action. This position leads a blended team spanning In-Store Strategy, Wall Planning, and Insights — ensuring strategy is executed with precision and managed with financial discipline.
What You Will Do:
Total In-Store Strategy & Data-Driven Insights
- Own CPD's total store elevation strategy — defining merchandising principles, data backed elevation strategies, retailer wall and display initiatives, and long-term financially sustainable planning across all categories and channels
- Lead the total store insights agenda — identifying intelligence gaps, building the research bridge that connects shopper data to store design decisions, and ensuring elevation initiatives are evidence-based
- Build and maintain centralized reporting through Power BI dashboards, delivering performance visibility to senior leadership
Executional Excellence
- Own the end-to-end seasonal planogram process — managing vendor partner relationships, coordinating Add/Delete decisions with Marketing, and translating corporate vision into account-specific solutions with Sales
- Lead all creative, fixture, and graphic timeline coordination with Merchandising and Creative teams
- Manage unified field sales communications to retailers for all Universal initiatives, from kick-off meeting to store reset
- Own all distribution metrics, door counts, and productivity measures across all CPD cosmetics brands
Financial & Budget Alignment
- Own the full CPD in-store capital budget — bottoms-up — inclusive of cosmetics wall investment, non-cosmetics category expansions, and the insights research budget
- Responsible for CapEx tracking by account via Salesforce, securing seasonal approvals, and ensuring forecast accuracy and on-time delivery of all door counts
- Define in-store KPIs and success measures, drive internal and external alignment on targets, and report performance, wins, and opportunities back to leadership on a consistent cadence
People Leadership
- Lead and develop a blended team spanning In-Store Strategy, Wall Planning, and Insights
- Accountable for performance management, talent development, and setting the long-term vision for the combined organization
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in in-store strategy, category management, shopper marketing, or a related field; mass beauty or consumer goods experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to build and own strategic frameworks that translate shopper insights into actionable in-store decisions
- Experience managing capital budgets, amortization schedules, and cross-functional financial planning processes or direct P&L ownership
- Experience in running shopper or consumer insight programs and presenting them to both retailers and internal stakeholders
- Proficiency in business intelligence tools (Power BI strongly preferred)
- Proven track record managing complex, multi-workstream planogram or merchandising execution processes, particularly within the cosmetics category
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams across multiple functions
Professional Competencies:
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical acumen — able to synthesize complex shopper and market data into clear, compelling recommendations for senior leadership
- Highly collaborative with demonstrated success building consensus across Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Operations teams
- Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong communicator and storyteller — able to translate data and strategy into narratives that influence and inspire at all levels of the organization
What's In It for You:
- Competitive Benefits Package (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Pension Plan)
- Hybrid Work Policy (3 days in Office, up to 2 days Work from Home)
- Flexible Time Off (Paid Company Holidays, Paid Vacation, Vacation Buy Program, Volunteer Time, Summer Fridays & More!)
- Access to Company Perks (VIP Access to L'Oréal's Internal Shop for Discounted Products, Monthly Mobile Allowance)
- Learning and Development Opportunities (Unlimited Access to E-learnings, Lunch & Learn Sessions, Mentorship Programs, & More!)
- Employee Resource Groups (Think Tanks and Innovation Squads)
- Access to Mental Health & Wellness Programs
- Salary Range: $147,100 – $213,300 (Actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors including geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level.)
