In the L'Oréal Dermatological Beauty Division, we change people's lives by creating the ‘beauty of health’ with our iconic brands (La Roche- Posay, Vichy, CeraVe, SkinCeuticals, skinbetter science). With the most prescribed brands by dermatologists and other specialists, our division is maintaining a double-digit growth worldwide for the last 5 years which is fueled by +7.5k employees around the world.

 

The SkinCeuticals Director of Medical Relations is responsible for positioning of SkinCeuticals within the Medical community and amongst KOL’s, as the leading Medical Skincare brand on the market. Key areas of attention include building a reliable and influential group of KOL Doctor’s, developing Preceptor programs, bringing awareness to Medical Congresses, identifying new platforms for Physician  engagements and sponsorships, regional programs and also the Product Evaluation Program.  This is to support the elevation and perceived value of SkinCeuticals brand and individual products and growing the brand into a wider circle of medical partners and offices. The position requires a scientific, business, and creative orientation, as well as strong personal skills. Travel of 50% is required.

 

What You Will Do: 

  • This position is extremely customer facing with emphasis in all field-based points of contact.
  • This position will support internal customers and will collaborate to negotiate within the acceptable balances of regulatory and legal guidance.  This includes strategy, review, and management of Investigator Initiated Trials (IITs) proposal reviews and follow up, Medical review of Marketing materials, and Education training.
  • This position will strategize on all congresses, P2P and speaker events, on selection and training of speakers, collaborating with sales for planning and execution of events.
    • These events will position SkinCeuticals as the Authority for Antioxidants, Integrated Skin Care, Innovation of new product launches. 
    • This position will report back to leadership congress reports and event KPIs on number of programs, attendees, and competitor intelligence.
    • This position will be responsible for all field sales training support and management of HighSpot assets in collaboration with Sales and Education Leadership
    • Maximize Dr / KOL relationships
    • Strengthen SkinCeuticals in existing territories
    • Introduce and grow SkinCeuticals in weaker territories
    • Stimulate awareness around core brand / product technologies
    • Promote new technology breakthroughs
  • This role will directly manage all aspects of Preceptorship program and the Fellows that come through our program. This includes interview process, curriculum content, relationship with MUSC, and budget.
  • Direct and manage presence at industry events, not limited to:
    • Trade show scheduling and participation
    • Summary of congress CI, sentiment and scientific sessions relevant to our business
    • Participation in trade association / show speaker circuits
    • New product launches
  • Compile competitor profiles and build strong understanding of competitor USP’s
  • Maintain personal / professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Manage medical relations budget as well as all performance reporting

 

What We Are Looking For:

  • A completed PhD, PharmD, or MD is required
  • Candidate should have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience in research, skincare and/or professionally dispensed products or Medical Science Liaison
  • Strong understanding of study design, protocols, budgets and execution a plus
  • Must have strong leadership ability - dynamic, flexible, positive attitude, and team spirit
  • Proven track record in building brands within the medical community and amongst Key Opinion Leaders
  • Strong organization, prioritization skills with a proven ability to multi-task and manage complexity
  • Excellent social, communication and presentation skills
  • Able to work independently on projects, disseminate, and present scientific information to internal and external customers
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% 
  • Ability to work flexible hours, some weekends, and travel up to 50%  to support off-site meetings and activities           
  • Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent, ongoing basis, without the need for legal sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Base Salary Range: $140,100 - $178,000 + bonuses (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
