BACKGROUND ON L’Oréal for the Future:

With higher stakes must come stronger commitments. This is the reason why L’Oréal has decided to take its efforts even further through a program called “L’Oréal for the Future” (L4TF). Our current commitments towards 2030, and our extended commitments towards 2050, mark an era of transformation and embody our view as to what a company’s vision, purpose and responsibilities should be to meet the challenges facing the world.

At L’Oréal, we want to take on greater responsibility and demonstrate that companies can be part of the solution to some of today’s most pressing environmental and social challenges while also decoupling business growth from environmental impact.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Reporting to the Chief Sustainability Officer, this role will lead our Net Zero program implementation for the US. This role will partner cross-functionally with senior leaders and business team specialists across L’Oréal USA and Caribe, leveraging best practices and insights with Groupe HQ and our Canadian zone colleagues to drive our Net Zero ambition across the US and Caribe organizations. This role will be responsible to organize the work (including stakeholder engagement and governance), identify high-impact areas of focus (and the practical work associated) and providing solution initiatives, tools and partners that drive progress on L’Oréal for the Future ambitions and environmental impact agenda in the US.

More specifically, the Director, Net Zero role is responsible for conceptualizing the framework for achieving net zero zone-level commitments in the US and Caribe (with an initial focus on POS/Promo and Media decarbonization), and related L4TF zone-level commitments; developing the roadmaps for implementation and execution of these initiatives in partnership with various internal stakeholders; leading, organizing, and coordinating transversal taskforces as required to achieve zone goals; providing thought-leadership and technical expertise on sustainability topics for the US; advising internal leadership on priority sustainability issues and progress; building strategic partnerships with important external stakeholders; designing and driving solutions for ambitious sustainability programs; and importantly ensuring the right systems and data for measuring and reporting progress. This is a cross-functional leadership role that will require collaboration, resilience, optimism, creative problem-solving and a solutions-first mindset.
