This position reports to the Director of Logistics for the Demi-Grand. The Senior Planner is responsible for providing expert planning and logistical support, ensuring seamless operations from demand management to filling production scheduling and fulfillment. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining the efficiency and accuracy of our supply chain, directly impacting our ability to meet market demands and launch calendars.
A Day in the Life: As a Senior Planner in Demi-Grand Logistics, your key responsibilities will include:
- Demand Management: Proactively lead and ensure the timely and accurate processing of all tasks related to incoming demand management within the Demi-Grand’s system, including both pre-requests and firm requests for batching and filling.
- Modification & Data Integrity: Effectively manage all required modifications in close collaboration with laboratory teams, ensuring all corresponding updates are accurately and promptly reflected within the system.
- Production Planning: Analyze production demand to accurately assign appropriate equipment and determine optimal batch sizes, strictly adhering to internal guidelines and best practices.
- Work Order Generation: Take ownership of creating bulk production work orders for internal manufacturing, along with generating all necessary corresponding internal files and records.
- Batch Request & BOM Management: Handle all aspects of internal and pilot batch requests, including their creation and making necessary adjustments to Bills of Material (BOM) as required.
- Filling Task Oversight: Oversee the end-to-end activities of all filling tasks, including but not limited to the initial import and approval of filling and bulk demands. This also involves the creation of work orders and corresponding folders, establishing internal component codes as required, confirming all required items to support fills are available in the required quantities to execute allocation, expediting, and scheduling. Ensure all activities align with customer timelines and targets.
- Prioritization & Communication: Prepare for and actively participate in monthly prioritization meetings. Routinely provide detailed updates to laboratory teams regarding project statuses and gain a clear understanding of Research & Innovation (R&I) global priorities for scheduling purposes.
- Lead Time & Efficiency Improvements: Maintain target lead times by analyzing issues and implementing solutions. Work with the labs, Operations team, and warehouse departments on efficiency improvements to meet target KPIs.
- Reporting & Analytics: Report defined KPIs to management for filling, providing comprehensive root cause analysis to substantiate data. Create and update monthly dashboards to report on critical Logistics KPIs, identified as key metrics.
- Process Optimization: Develop and implement robust process documentation/work instructions. Conduct regular process audits to ensure adherence to internal policies and industry best practices. Identify bottlenecks, waste, and opportunities for automation or streamlined workflows within Logistics operations.
- Tool Development: Assist in building and implementing reporting and visual tools and dashboards to support departmental workflows and KPIs.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively contribute to safety, quality, and efficiency improvements within Logistics, as needed.
- Project Participation: Participate in department projects to help strategize and innovate plans for successful launch and implementation.
- Customer Service & Support: Provide strong customer service and maintain excellent communication with all DG customers and vendors. Offer backup support and perform other duties as deemed necessary by management to ensure continuous operational flow.
We Are Looking For: To succeed in this position, you are a highly skilled and strategic scientist with a passion for ingredient innovation.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field is required
- Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years’ work experience in Planning within a manufacturing environment is required.
- Knowledge & Skills:
- Customer Service Knowledge.
- Basic knowledge of a manufacturing type environment.
- Ability to work in a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, as well as the ability to manage priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and with external partners (oral, written, presentation).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs. Proficient in Power BI, business objects, and advanced Microsoft Excel to be able to build reports, macros, and KPI dashboards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills within a complex environment.

- Working Conditions: Employees are expected to fully comply with the Demi-Grand/L'Oréal Work-from-Home Policy. The first six months of employment will require consistent on-site presence for comprehensive training, 5 days a week. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times when performing tasks within designated areas.

- Base Salary Range: $77,400 - $110,300 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
