Part of the L’Oréal group, The Body Shop International is a natural and ethical beauty brand, with 3050 stores in 66 markets around the world, operating through a multi-channel retail strategy, including stand-alone stores, global travel retail locations and e-commerce sites.


Purpose of role:

Contribute to the category growth by generating, driving & delivering the category strategy through NPD, events and the entire activation plan development. Lead, coach and develop the marketing team.

Key Job Accountabilities:

 

Category Strategy


•    Define the category strategy by identifying drivers for growth, potential for new consumers acquisition for all markets and zones

•    Present and get approval on the strategy and NPDs proposal from senior management and zones by presenting, influencing and networking with relevant stakeholders

•    Drive gap analysis of the category by identifying new products needs and retail opportunities

•    Manage the portfolio by including new SKUs, define discontinuations and timing accordingly

•    Activate the category and launches strategy, both online and offline, working with the Activation, Visual Merchandising, Integrated Communication and Retail Academy teams.

•    Define the multi channel category strategy in collaboration with e-Commerce, GTR, CRM & others commercial teams as appropriate

 

NPDs & Activation Plan


•    Generate innovative NPDs ideas and encourage innovative thinking in the wider team

•    Guarantee the wider category profitability by ensuring NPDs margins and profitability

•    Respect NPDs launch timing with thought through activation plan

•    Ensure NPD operational excellence in regards to timing and in collaboration with operations

•    Ensure NPD commercial viability and relevance in collaboration with the wider commercial team, in particular customer offer and CRM

•    Deliver thought-through event in collaboration with the Event team, others Marketing Director and the wider activation team

•    Contribute to Pricing & Discount decisions to ensure balance the pursuits of our product valorization/strenghting of the brand with delivery of annual sales and target


Consumers & Markets intelligence


  •      Ensure markets operational excellence by sharing information and best practice and following up the execution at market level
  •      Understand and integrate in any proposed action a full understanding of consumers behaviours in different zones and markets
  •      Exploring markets trends and competitiors strategies to gain competitive advantage



Requirements:


  • Experience of developing creative concepts for more than one market, ideally internationally
  • Knowledge of cosmetics buying behaviors in several international markets
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills both verbal and written
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences, consumer behaviors and trends
  • Able to manage complexity within the working environment, reasoning from multiple perspectives
  • Strong consumer insight orientation
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to imagine creative solutions

Qualifications: Educated to degree level or equivalent.
