 Jr. Payroll Administrator / Payroll/HR Service Center


Provide customer service excellence to the L’Oréal USA Human Resources community and the employee population with a focus on these internal customers. Address and resolve employee inquiries regarding L’Oréal policies and practices while performing a variety of routine clerical duties for Payroll and other Corporate HR partners while maintaining strict confidentially of records and correspondence. Individual will have an opportunity to gain a general understanding of laws governing payroll processing, time and labor policies, practices, and procedures.


•Individual will work under close supervision of the Payroll Supervisor to learn L’Oréal’s payroll and time and labor policies, practices, and procedures.

•Process payroll for specific accounts and be responsible for all aspects of processing which includes ensuring transactions are in compliance with internal and external payroll and time & labor laws, policies and practices

•Maintain a complete understanding of pay rules for assigned employee population and general understanding of laws governing payroll processing.

•Complete payroll cycle audit and reconciliation to ensure accurate payroll process

•Prepare employee files for new hires and terminations.

•Maintain employee payroll records by filing documents required to be maintained in employee files and storing documents as required.

•Provide administrative support for HR Planning and Operations staff, Payroll, HRIS, ESC, Salary Planning

•Open and distribute department mail and faxes

•Order, store, and maintain department supplies while staying within budget.

•Complete mortgage verification

•Respond to calls for employment verification.

•Perform data input of employee tax, direct deposit, and other miscellaneous changes.

•Reset passwords for time and attendance system as well as the online workcenter.

•Review electronic timecards for approval and accuracy.

•Complete payroll calculations for retroactive payroll adjustments, terminations, and other exception processing.

•Assist in payroll cycle audit and reconciliation to ensure accurate payroll process.

•Provide back-up payroll support when needed.

•Participation on cross functional initiatives within the Employee Service Center and Payroll Departments

•Special projects and/or other duties as assigned.


•Possess HS diploma or equivalent.

•1-3 years office experience.

•General understanding of laws governing payroll processing.

•Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, & Outlook for email & calendars.

•Skill in operating office machines such as fax, copy, scanner, and calculator required.

•Ability to maintain complete confidentiality at all times.

•Must possess excellent communication and customer service skills.

•Ability to partner with internal and external resources to resolve inquiries

•Demonstrated ability to deliver positive customer service experiences

•Ability to work in a fast paced environment, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.

•Must be highly organized and detail oriented.


•Payroll experience not required but a good math aptitude is a plus.
