What You Will Do

As a Manager, Human Resources for L’Oréal West, you will be an integral part of an HR team that focuses on our LUXE and Dermatological Beauty brands. In this role you will provide strategic HRBP support for our LUXE brand teams. You will navigate a complex, matrixed organization to drive business results through people. 

 

 

  • Strategic Business Partnering: Act as the primary HRBP for West Coast Luxe teams (Marketing, Shopper Experience, O+O) aligning organizational design and capabilities with specific brand and commercial objectives. You will stretch to provide in office support to our LUXE DMI (Global Brand Teams) and LDB brands at peak moments of the year. 
  • HR Excellence: Be the driver of key moments that matter for our business and employees including year end rating, salary planning, employee listening (PULSE), and goal setting (CONNECT)
  • Matrix Management: Navigate and influence a complex, highly matrixed structure, ensuring seamless collaboration between local teams, national stakeholders, and global partners.
  • Talent & Succession Planning: Drive the "people pipeline" by coaching employees in career development and identifying high-potential talent and partnering with Talent Acquisition on recruitment strategies.
  • Employee Development: Coach and mentor managers on personal and professional growth, utilizing performance appraisals to build robust individual development and training plans.
  • Culture & Employee Relations: Champion a high-performance culture by providing expert guidance on employee relations, coaching aligned with L’Oréal leadership values, and driving engagement initiatives.
  • Compliance & Policy Leadership: Ensure strict adherence to California employment laws (EEOC, ADA, Wage & Hour) and lead the implementation of strategic HR policies across the West Coast group.
  • Data & Analytics: Oversee HR data integrity within internal systems (One Profile) and prepare sophisticated reporting and analyses to inform business decisions.

 

What We Are Looking For 

  • Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of proven HR experience, with a background in supporting Sales or Marketing functions preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or a related field required.
  • Matrix Fluency: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and navigate complex reporting lines within a global or highly matrixed organization.
  • California Expertise: In-depth knowledge of CA employment laws and statutes (FMLA, OFCCP, WARN, etc.) is essential for this location.
  • Executive Maturity: Strong interpersonal skills and "executive maturity" to consult with senior management and remain composed during periods of high pressure or ambiguity.
  • Analytical Problem Solving: Highly resourceful with strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems.
  • Communication & Influence: Excellent negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across diverse cross-functional teams.
