What You Will Do:

Responsible for developing the vision, ingenuity, and innovation of REDKEN education and culture.   This includes both internal teams, artists, and stylists. . The goal is to retain the #1 position in Redken Brand Education in the hearts and minds of our staff, artists, salons, owners, and new customers. This role requires a pulse on the industry and the open-mindedness to evolve the brand with the times.  Expected to be highly innovative, this role will ensure Redken stays ahead of the pace as the #1 brand in the industry.  The Vice President of Brand Education will accomplish these goals and objectives through continuous innovation and execution of a specialized development plan.

 

  • Responsible for designing innovative brand experiences, education programming, positioning, and messaging 

 

  • Responsible for representing the Redken Education Standards across the brand, division, and industry through excellent leadership and inspiration.   The incumbent will collaborate closely with peers and stakeholders including Sales, Marketing, Digital, Finance and HR.

 

  • To develop an inspirational, effective, and innovative REDKEN brand experience to be executed at any event, show, and training program.  Works closely and collaborates with Education Team stakeholders to ensure executional excellence from concept to completion.   Create leading standards for ongoing technical development and competency requirements for Education managers, Artists, and Black Level Salons, that are relevant to current industry trends and desirable to our customers.  

 

This includes but is not limited to:

 

  • Lead and represent Redken Education across internal, external, and customer networks including SalonCentric.  Align vision and goals for Redken brand and our partnerships and ensure execution across all functions within the teams.  (20%) 

 

  • Manage, plan, and optimize artist network by balancing the needs of the business, building the network for the future, and artist/customer expectations.  Personally handle all contracted artists’ contracts and relationships. (20%)

 

  • Create the education standards and requirements for technical development of Regional Education managers, Artists, and Black Level Salons.        Identify the talent/trainers to lead Redken trainings and collaborate with the team on the curriculum required.  Plan and execute training programs with the team. (20%)
  • Develop the concepts, briefs, KPIs, and visual territories for all events, shows, customer events, and education programs (including sales events). Plan and execute specified events and shows with the team, including Redken Symposium.  (20%)

 

  • Key participant in corporate calendar shows/activities as well as be a key participant of the Redken leadership team. Assistance with go-to-market strategies and programs including new product launches and renovations with educational strategies and training programs to ensure successful implementation.  (10%)

 

  • Required to manage this function’s P&L and operate within financial guidelines. (10%)

 

 

 

Travel is significant at certain times during the year and could be approximately 25-35% of the time for the US business. 

 

What We Are Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • Competent in product knowledge as well as competitive product knowledge.
  • A thorough understanding of Redken educational programs and philosophies.
  • Strong computer skills including Email, Word, Power Point, Excel or a willingness to be immersed in training
  • Superior presentation and facilitation skills to produce and model effective classes, programs, events and meetings.
  • Exceptional leadership skills to motivate staff and artists.
  • An ability to communicate clearly with both written and oral skills.
  • Flexibility (openness to change and new ideas). Self-initiated career management (accountability for learning/acquiring skills needed to excel), embrace and believe in all elements of the REDKEN mission, values and objectives.
  • Ability to effectively manage and control a large budget and influence cross-functional teams who are not formal direct reports
