CREDIT MANAGER

L'Oréal seeks a highly motivated and experienced Credit Manager to join our dynamic Shared Services team. This crucial role involves managing and mitigating credit risk while fostering strong, collaborative relationships with both internal stakeholders and external customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely and accurate assessment of customer creditworthiness, ongoing account monitoring, and the optimization of sales within acceptable risk parameters. A passion for achieving credit targets and a commitment to building strong, productive relationships are essential.

A Day in the Life of a L’Oréal Credit Manager

A Credit Manager at L'Oréal navigates a vibrant and multifaceted landscape, requiring a unique blend of analytical prowess, strong relationship management skills, and a keen understanding of the nuances within the beauty industry. Every day presents a fresh set of challenges and opportunities, with a typical workday potentially encompassing the following:

Communication is Key: A significant portion of the day involves responding to a steady stream of emails and calls. This could range from fielding inquiries from our Commercial partners about credit limits for prospective clients, to skilfully resolving payment discrepancies with existing customers, or providing timely updates to internal stakeholders on the performance of specific accounts.

Proactive Analysis and Insight: A Credit Manager at L'Oréal doesn't just react; they anticipate. Analysing data is crucial for understanding account performance, identifying emerging trends, and proactively addressing potential issues before they escalate. This often involves preparing comprehensive reports and presentations to effectively communicate key findings and potential risks to senior management, contributing directly to informed decision-making.

Diplomacy and Resolution: When payments become overdue, the Credit Manager takes the initiative to contact the customer, engaging in a friendly yet assertive conversation. The goal is to understand the underlying reasons for the delay and collaboratively work towards a mutually agreeable payment plan. This delicate balance requires tact and diplomacy to preserve the customer relationship while ensuring timely payment and upholding L'Oréal's financial integrity. In essence, a Credit Manager at L'Oréal acts as a crucial bridge between the company's commercial success and its financial stability, ensuring smooth operations within the dynamic beauty industry.
