MediaThe One Media team is a center of excellence serving L’Oreal USA’s 30+ brands. Our mission is to establish best in class media partnerships and deliver cutting-edge strategic vision. As Head of Search, you will define and execute L’Oreal’s search strategy leading our in-house and agency teams.  

This role requires a highly strategic and hands on leader with a passion for leveraging collaboration, media, and emerging technologies to achieve best in class results. The ideal candidate is a proactive innovator, a data driven strategist, and skilled team manager with strong hands on understanding of paid search execution and ability to manage and mentor a large team.  

 

What You Will Do: 

Strategic Vision & Leadership:  Define the overarching search vision, roadmap, and learning agenda for L’Oreal USA, driving innovation and best practices across all brands. Collaborate with global teams to share and implement best in class strategies and adhere to global golden rules.  

Team Management & Mentorship:  Lead, mentor, and inspire a high performing team of in house and agency search specialists. Foster a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and collaboration. 

Performance Driven Optimization: Oversee all paid search activities, driving revenue growth, maximizing ROAS, and increasing market share. Develop and execute data driven strategies, leveraging advanced analytics and measurement frameworks. Lead the execution of measurement studies including cross channel measurement analysis. Provide direct guidance and support to hands on keyboard teams on campaign optimization tactics. Establish clear performance goals and KPIs. Monitor performance closely and identify key areas of opportunity and implement optimization strategies to maximize ROI and achieve business objectives. Regularly analyze and report on campaign performance with key stakeholders. 

Joint Business Planning & Partner Management: Develop and manage strategic Joint Business Plans for key search partners. Cultivate strong relationships to unlock exclusive opportunities such as Betas, and Alphas, to drive innovation.  

Campaign Management & Planning 

Partner with the Agency teams on the strategic planning of Paid Search. Lead the planning, execution, and optimization of Paid Search campaigns across Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising. Manage total Search budgets, and ensuring efficient allocations to maximize ROI, and KPIs across teams.  

Innovation & Emerging Technologies: Champion a mobile-first approach and explore innovative search technologies (e.g., visual search, voice search). Identify and pilot emerging platforms and ad products to expand L'Oréal's reach and market share. Stay ahead of industry trends, search algorithm updates, emerging tools and technologies. 

Digital Business Intelligence & Reporting: Oversee the development and maintenance of internal search dashboards and reporting tools. Deliver actionable insights and data-driven recommendations to executive leadership and brand teams. 

 

Day to day, your role includes: 

  • Own strategy and vision to accelerate internal search activation 
  • Lead team of internal and agency across the divisions and act as center of excellence for the entire organization. 
  • Leverage data-driven insights to drive revenue 
  • Lead media teams to build high performing search strategies, driving digital sales and be a key digital subject matter expert  
  • Oversee the roadmap of internal digital business intelligence tools for Search. 
  • Drive revenue from search, conversion & ROAS 
  • Execute pilots, learning agenda and scale 
  • Lead relationship with agency and Google, Bing, Pinterest and other search partners 
  • Provide support to CDMOs, GMs & Digital teams to fuel Search capabilities and grow revenue 

Innovation 

  • Lead innovation with search partners and own LUSA test/learn/scale agenda for Search 
  • Champion mobile-first mentality and execute strategies that drive conversion 
  • Launch entrepreneurial features that drive incremental digital sales  
  • Increase L’Oreal’s SOV on emerging digital platforms 
  • Develop deep relationships with technology providers to ensure L’Oreal is best-in-class 

Digital Business Intelligence 

  • Set, analyze and optimize KPIs for operational and executive reporting 
  • Own internal Search Dashboard and reporting 
  • Author playbooks, scorecards and newsletters that empower local teams to adopt best practices 
  • Deliver best-in-class insights to keep L’Oreal ahead of competition 

We’re looking for strong, impactful work experience, which typically includes: 

  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience with proven track record of driving revenue growth and innovation 
  • BS/BA degree required.  
  • Entrepreneurially spirited; strong work ethic and customer driven 
  • Strong interpersonal skills 
  • Deep understanding of SEM, including keyword research, content optimization, hands on keyboard paid search campaign management and performance analysis 
  • Expertise in analytics platforms (GA4, Conductor, SA360, etc.) 
  • Ability to build successful relationships at all levels of the organization and cross-functionally to staff with varying levels of technical expertise 
  • Ability to effectively present information to an individual or group, both written and verbally 
  • Solid understanding of eCommerce and high volume D2C businesses 
  • Highly organized with proven multi-tasking ability and project management. 
  • Experience working with Demandware (Salesforce) & Sitecore platforms 
  • Expert analytics, MVT & BI software knowledge (Google Analytics, Domo, Tableau, Optimize)  
  • Affinity and relevant experience in beauty and personal care brands is a plus 
  • Strong ability to develop business cases, understand brand development and communicate key value propositions succinctly to a broad group of leaders
