This role requires interaction with internal and external stakeholders for the successful implementation of a 360° communication strategy.

External communications

o Assists with media relations

o Compile and update media lists

o Assist with the planning and execution of press and campus events

o Edit copy, proofread and revise content

o Assist with spokesperson briefing materials

Internal communications

o Coordinate and manage internal communication events for employees of the subsidiary to efficiently relay key messages and values expressed by the Group

o Manage content for the internal newsletter and internal communications platforms

o Execute mandatory events aligned to the group annual calendar

Corporate social responsibility

o Support the implementation of the group’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives locally namely the L’Oreal-UNESCO For Women In Science South African programme:

o Marketing to universities

o Oversee application process

o Assist with preparing for review and adjudication


o Managing local website

o Social media content plans

o Social media community management for corporate platforms

o Monitor the group’s online presence

o Managing paid media

o Reporting in alignment with identified KPI’s


o Update tracking documents and image banks

o Manage product orders and track stock movement

o Assist with the approval of sponsorship requests

o Assist with agency briefs for videos and graphic design

o Budget tracking for allocated projects

 to achieving the key pillars of the group’s sustainability commitment, Sharing Beauty With All and related programmes


Communication KPI’s culture to leverage the business

Maps & plans media, social media, stakeholders landscape

Manages PR relations and e-PR with L’Oréal intelligence

Manages communication expertise with the L’Oréal attitude

Is aligned with the L’Oréal CSR strategy "Sharing Beauty With All"

Works closely with targeted stakeholders & NGOs in the L’Oréal way

  • Ensures the group’s philanthropy presence & recognition


  • Tertiary degree in Public Relations/Marketing/Communications or other job-related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a communications role
  • Experience in creative and strategic thinking, oral communication, writing, editing and effective dissemination of information to wide audiences
  • Strong time-management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office - PowerPoint, Excel and Word is essential
