Market Intelligence Manager in 
CMI (Consumer Market Insights) Team

CMI mission is to drive Consumer Centricity, putting insight at the heart of  business decision planning by providing thought leadership, performance tracking, and analysis on consumers, shoppers and competitors. The Market Intelligence team within CMI focuses on L'Oréal's performance relative to the market. The team aims to:

Lead the market intelligence strategy in UK&Ireland. Provide analysis and recommendations to ensure proper consideration of the full market picture into the group/division/brand/category’s growth strategy. 
Lead the collection and systematic analysis of country market data, ensuring information quality and accuracy. Analyze the evolution of the markets, the sector and the competition’s activities, to inform the country business strategy.
Identify the major trends of the market to detect growth opportunities (consumer, competition, new business models), through constant, in-depth engagement with the industry’s landscape.
Define development recommendations to guide senior management, local teams, zone and DMI teams

CMI sits within the Chief Marketing Office (CMO) Team in the Corporate Division of L'Oréal UKI. The CMO is made up of 5 teams who support the business and drive the Digital Transformation. The team have the consumer at the heart of all we do. We help our brands to shape their strategy, identify new opportunities and ultimately unlock business growth in the UKI market.

You will

Contribute to L’Oréal UKI growth by providing in-depth market understanding. 
The role will be concentrated on 3 pillars:
Performance Tracking: You will be an expert in our market data sources and have the technical skills to consolidate this complex data into one robust, yet concise performance summary. You will understand where and why we have gaps in market coverage and find innovative methodologies to fill these gaps.
Data-Driven Insights Your deep understanding of the competitive landscape will be instrumental in driving business plans, identifying new opportunities for growth, and supporting key initiatives. You will build strong relationships with key stakeholders, so your knowledge of channels, retailers, competitors, and category dynamics play an integral role in navigating their business forward. 
Agency Management: As an expert and key user of continuous data sources (retailer and consumer panel), you will be responsible for managing agency relationships, ensuring on-time, accurate delivery of reports, and that the agency has the information needed to support the business through strong, value-added analysis and thought-leadership. 

Key elements to your role:
Develop a deep understanding of the industry, market, competitors, and our business
Own market performance tracking for your business unit
Support business objectives with relevant market data to enable decision making 
Create new and improved techniques/solutions for data collection, management, and usage
Identify and onboard new 3rd party data providers 
Communicate effectively across the business to embed market knowledge
Be able to stand for absolute objectivity.

You have

Proven track record in the application of insights in the FMCG industry

Comfortable managing large, complex sets of data, and using this information to inform and support business objectives

Highly numerate – strong analytically and good commercial acumen

Expertise in Excel (advanced formula)

Experience managing databases & dashboards

Strong organisational skills & attention to detail

Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to communicate information and opinions persuasively, openly and honestly, including when it concerns difficult messages

Ability to work in an ever changing & demanding environment 

Ability to deliver on projects to quality and time

Acts as a proactive self-starter and takes initiative

Builds strong and effective relationships based on trust

Bonus: Experience using retailer panel data (e.g., Nielsen, NPD, IRI, etc.)
