Responsible for the overall planning of production unit including but not limited to order conversion and sequencing of the production schedule for both Bulk Processing and Finished Good Packaging.  Devises schedule for manufacturing, ensuring that sufficient raw materials, bulk, and components are available at the right time in the right quantity for the plant.  Responsible to ensure clear communication, direction, and understanding across Short term Planner and Logistics Department.  Is the key subject matter expert for short term planning responsible for the training and skill development of the STPs. The manager will provide technical coaching and guidance to the STPs as well. This person will also create new training materials, improve existing planning processes, and create new planning processes, tools, and resources to drive performance.)




Section 3: Job Requirements (Minimum number of years of experience, skills, certification, and academic background required to perform this job):


BS/BA Degree in Business Management or equivalent experience.



Must have 4-6  years’ experience in manufacturing environment in cosmetics or related field with at least three 3 years’ experience in production planning preferred. (years for STP Manager)


Required skillset:

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Experience in SAP/APO

Strong communication skills, including an ability to direct multiple people across multiple functions

Vision and Anticipation

Understanding of Operations

  1. Develop training plan and set KPI’s and Scorecards for STP’s


  1. Develop value stream map of STP interaction for new hires


  1. Develop processes to improve planning performance, reduce common mistakes and decrease manual operations with support of coaching and support.  Standardize processes between STP’s and UP’s


  1. Streamline launches between the UP and external areas (QI, Logistics, Development)


  1. Daily order conversions and sequencing of packaging lines and processing vessels


  1. Ensure a firm 5-day order schedule for both


  1. Coordinate with Logistics counterparts to ensure component and raw material availabilities to support the planned production schedule


  1. Communicate / escalate bottlenecks to the production plan


  1. Coordinate with Production Managers to align order conversions with scheduled manning to avoid unplanned stoppages on the lines and to maximize available labor


  1. Track and trend Achievement and Adherence to meet site objectives


  1. Analyze data to understand misses to the production plan and create actions to correct


  1. Ensure Master Data accuracy in SAP with the creation of new recipes and PVs and on-going maintenance of the system.  Up keeping of master data from historical, actual and launch cadences


  1. Develop strong relationships across the facility in order to promote learnings and continuous improvements to our planning process


  1. Manage inventory levels closely to ensure no bulk expirations and no line stoppages due to missing components/bulk


  1. Participate in the Launch of new products, adhering to required timelines to ensure products are available by the target date


  1. Perform other duties as necessary or required
