What are we looking for?

The Advanced Research team Singapore is responsible for conducting research within the scope of the skin and scalp microbiome. Within this broad domain, the team is involved in multi-disciplinary research across various fields and works very closely with both internal departments and external partners. Aligned with the goal of advanced research in L’Oréal R&I, the focus is to identify innovative concepts for development of novel cosmetic, dermatology and consumer care products.

The successful candidate for this position should be experienced in hair, follicle and scalp biology research, with an established scientific track record. Experience with microbial-mammalian co-cultures and/or immunology would be a certain asset for this position. The candidate is expected to be flexible in working within L’Oréal premises or at the external partner's site. Ability to manage complexities and work efficiently in a team-oriented and a multicultural environment is a must have for this position.

Selected candidate is expected to be a team player with an active interest in carrying out inter-disciplinary research, particularly at the interface of hair and follicle biology, microbiology and immunology.

Key Requirements

  • Strong academic credentials – PhD in biological sciences or related fields
  • Scientific training record in hair, scalp or epithelial cell biology
  • Research experience in microbiology and immunology is an advantage
  • Active interest in inter-disciplinary research and have experience working within industry-facing R&D environment, preferably with demonstrated project management experience with excellent organizational skills
