Position Summary:

The centralized CDMO Finance group at L’Oreal USA is a team of Finance experts responsible for ensuring we are managing and optimizing our marketing spend through a holistic view across all divisions with a deep understanding of corporate strategies and priorities, external partnerships, in-depth spend analyses, and consistent Finance presence supporting the Chief Digital & Marketing Officer’s initiatives. This role offers a holistic view of CDMO – leading the finance team on CDMO budgets and allocations to the brands, managing team SG&A and personnel costs, steering cost efficiency initiatives and preparing ongoing and ad-hoc analyses for leadership.

Key Role & Responsibilities:

  • Marketing Spend
    • Partner with Corporate Marketing and Digital teams on initiatives across Media, CRM, Digital Content, Influencer, Ecommerce, Advanced Analytics, and Consumer & Market Insights, working with senior business leaders in the USA and globally to optimize value of the L’Oreal business
    • Enable efficient media strategy (reach, relevancy and cost), activation and ownership of 1P data at scale, state of the art customer care center and category expert websites. Leverage Finance and Digital partnership to influence balanced ROI and positive media mix with relevant measurement.
    • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop investment recommendations through test and learn scenarios, ROI analyses, benchmarking, and other specific spend deep dives
    • Drive an optimized cost structure of internal content capabilities for efficient production of relevant US content
    • Liaise with finance and external agency teams to ensure productive working relationship and quality control on all agency financial deliverables 
    • Bring deep external market knowledge and expertise, and maintain awareness of market and industry trends to leverage best practices within L’Oréal
  • CDMO Budget & Allocations
    • Partner with CDMO business and HR to develop Budgets and Trends for both A&P and SG&A, including managing the process and ensuring adherence to corporate deadlines
    • Consolidate CDMO Budgets and Trends for presentation to CDMO & CFO
    • Manage all CDMO allocations in Compass by brand & division
    • Manage allocations changes and impacts with the Heads of Finance and Corporate Finance
    • Lead Month End closing for the CDMO team, including YTD/YTG analyses
    • Partner with Corporate Finance & Finance Transformation on tasks including but not limited to – cost center management, allocation keys, enhancements to systems
  • CDMO SG&A Management
    • Partner with CDMO business, HR and Salary Planning to control SG&A expenses, including approval of POs, monthly T&E reporting/analysis, management of outside/consultant services, etc. and ensure adherence to budget caps
    • Manage monthly close process, including create accrual journal entries as needed
    • Interpret digital norms related to SG&A and provide direction to brand, division & corporate finance
  • CDMO Cost Efficiency
    • Partner with CDMO business leads and sourcing counterparts to identify cost savings opportunities within existing projects and vendors, and work cross functionally to implement and measure those cost savings to fuel future profitable growth for the organization
  • Ongoing & Ad-hoc analyses for senior management
    • Manage monthly/trend digital reporting for all US Affaire Marches in Compass, analyzing digital sales and investments for alignment to US & CDO benchmarks and goals
    • Interface with global CDO team on ad-hoc analyses of the US business
    • Lead CDMO finance preparation for international management meetings


  • 10-15 years of experience in Finance or Accounting, with experience in Consumer Products or Advertising preferred
  • Bachelors’ degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • Must have expert level experience in Excel & Financial systems. Previous experience in Power BI preferred
  • Effective as a self-starter; willing to work outside the confines of defined job responsibilities in order to make a greater impact
